5 TIPS TO SOUND LIKE A NATIVE SPEAKER

07:24
American English pronunciation is not just the way native speakers pronounce words, it's the way they pronounce phrases - connect words, insert sounds, omit some letters at all. How to sound more American (video about intonations and phrases) - http://bit.ly/2FKToCD 10 Lifehacks for those who struggle to speak English - http://bit.ly/2FMOe9n T-shirts (Shein) - http://bit.ly/2tKh6Kg SheIn website - http://bit.ly/2tXcKjp + http://bit.ly/2ljwiqk Trendy clothes:http://bit.ly/2HE8Heh Methods from this video: 1. Linking Words are connected to gather and sound like one long word. You need to understand how it works so you can sound more American and understand what people say The last sound in one word is linked to the first sound in another word When two consonants are together, we don’t pronounce these consonants, we link them together This school - this school Big elephant - bigelephant Run away - runaway A fine name Good day Good boy I want that orange – thadorange I want this orange – thisorange 2. Intrusion When two vowels come together, we sometimes Hera an extra Y or W sound between them When the first word ends with sounds -iy, -ey, -ay, -oy, y sound comes in between the two words He asked – Heyasked Three apples - threeyapples When the first word ends with -uw, -ow, -aw, then w sound comes in Between the two words Do it – Dewit Go out – Gowout A good example with both of the rules that I’ve mentioned: At the end of the movie, we’ll all go out 3. Elision Elision is when a sound disappears Next door – Nexdoor 4. Assimilation Assimilation means two sounds blend together, forming a new sound altogether. This often happens with t and j which make ʧ and with d and j which make ʤ. For example: Don’t you — donʧu Won’t you — wonʧu Meet you — meeʧu Did you — diʤu Would you — wuʤu 5. geminates are like twins — two same sounds back-to-back. Often when one word ends with the same letter as the beginning of the next word, you should connect the two words in your speech. For example: Social life – socialife Good day 📗🇺🇸 My book about how I got full financial aid to study in the USA (my story + tips) - https://goo.gl/fKwah2 ⭐ INSTAGRAM - linguamarina ⭐ LEARN LANGUAGES ABROAD - https://linguatrip.com 📝 Get your English text corrected instantly - https://fluent.express/ 📷 FILMING EQUIPMENT VLOGS (outdoors): - Canon G7X - http://amzn.to/2l2aSfE VIDEOS indoors: - Sony A7R II (also perfect for instagram) - http://amzn.to/2DrCNTU - Sony 50 mm lens - http://amzn.to/2G2r4c4 SOUND: - Zoom H4n Pro (better than any built-in camera sound) - http://amzn.to/2DVJzyr - Rode video mic (when I have to use my camera to record the sound) - http://amzn.to/2BhkCKW 🎈PROMOS $20 TO SPEND ON AIRBNB - https://abnb.me/e/B2yx6PJZER $20 TO SPEND ON UBER - http://ubr.to/2k1B89L

GMAT AWA: HOW I GOT READY IN 2 HOURS (700+)

09:55
GMAT AWA is the easiest part of GMAT. In this video I'll give you template that will help you prepare for GMAT essay in 2 hours. Best GMAT tutor ever! Scored 780 out of 800 - https://goo.gl/d59Hfm Books that will help you prepare: 1. GMAT Official Guide - http://amzn.to/2cBrEiJ. Use it for a list of questions that you can encounter on GMAT, including essay topics. This one is a MUST HAVE! 2. Kaplan GMAT Practice Tests - http://amzn.to/2c8bL20. Take them at home. The average of the last three practice tests would give you an idea of how much you could score during GMAT. 3. GMAT Tutor - https://goo.gl/I3Bs15. Scored 780 out of 800 on GMAT. Helped me a lot! In this GMAT AWA video, I am giving sample answer to this text: The following appeared in the editorial section of a local newspaper. “This past winter, 200 students from Waymarsh State College traveled to the state capitol building to protest against proposed cuts in funding for various state college programs. The other 12,000 Waymarsh students evidently weren’t so concerned about their education: they either stayed on campus or left for winter break. Since the group who did not protest is far more numerous, it is more representative of the state’s college students than are the protesters. Therefore the state legislature need not heed the appeals of the protesting students.” Discuss how well reasoned . . . Etc. This is what I write as an answer: The argument claims that the state legislature need not heed the appeals of the protesting students since the group who did not pretest is far more numerous. The conclusion of the argument is based on the premise that 12000 Waymarsh students who did not protest were not so concerned about their education. The conclusion of the argument relies on assumptions for which there is no clear evidence. Hence, the argument is unconvincing and has several flaws. First, the argument readily assumes that the students, who have not taken part in the protest were not concerned about their education. However, it fails to mention other factors, which could affect students’ decision concerning the participation in the protest. For example, 200 students that have travelled to the state capital building could have been appointed as other students’ representatives. The author fails to mention the laws that regulate protests. The legal number of people taking part in the protest might have been limited in compliance with these laws. Second, the argument could have been much clearer if it provided information on any other similar protests aroused by proposed cuts in funding for various state college programs. In fact, it is not at all clear if similar actions also were also taken by students of other colleges affected by proposed cuts. Finally, the argument fails to mention one of the key factors, on basis of which it could be evaluated, namely if any of 1200 students who haven’t taken part in the protest are enrolled in the programs which would be affected should the cuts take place. Without this information, the argument remains unsubstantiated and open to debate. 12 RUSSIAN HABITS YOU SHOULD ADOPT

07:04
There are certain things that Russians do that I feel people all over the world should do :) I just moved to the States and I miss a couple of these things. Learn Russian in Saint-Petersburg (https://goo.gl/HgakzE), and stay in my apartment! Whether you'll be visiting Moscow or Saint- Petersburg (maybe for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia (Россия)?) I think it's very nice to learn some Russian habits. We actually never say 'NA ZDOROVIE' when we drink, but we tend to say long speeches. We also wash hands first thing when we come home and we would never visit our friends empty-handed. So get a chocolate next time you visit a Russian, and don't forget to take your shoes off when you enter the apartment :) ⭐ INSTAGRAM - linguamarina ⭐ FACEBOOK - https://www.facebook.com/marina.mogilko ⭐ MY COMPANY - https://linguatrip.com ⭐ ASK ME A QUESTION - https://goo.gl/dQ9HDw FILMING EQUIPMENT 👍 CANON G7X - http://amzn.to/2l2aSfE 👍 CANON 650D - http://amzn.to/2l0ihNs 👍 RODE MIC - http://amzn.to/2l2cwOq 👍 50 MM LENS - http://amzn.to/2l0rNjr PROMOS $20 TO SPEND ON AIRBNB - https://abnb.me/e/B2yx6PJZER $20 TO SPEND ON UBER - http://ubr.to/2k1B89L

HOW TO LEARN 100+ ENGLISH WORDS A DAY. ENGLISH VOCABULARY.

09:04
In this video I share hacks that help memorize thousands of English words per day and grow your vocabulary. 📝 Get your English text corrected instantly - https://fluent.express/ Related videos: 50 most common English phrases - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj5btO2nvt8 - Best TV shows to learn English - http://bit.ly/2zI5DN2 - How to speak English like an American - http://bit.ly/2muNpcQ  📗🇺🇸 My book about how I got full financial aid to study in the USA (my story + tips) - https://goo.gl/fKwah2 How to learn hundreds of English words a day 1. There are words in English that work both as a noun and verb - so by learning one work your learning two -    work, drive, try, kiss, drink, dream, milk (доить), hope, love 2. Words that end with -tion would be almost the same in your own language, super easy to learn - ambition (ambicion, Ambition, ambitzione), motivation (motivacion, Motivation, motivazione). Dissertation, profession, portion, intonation, convention, sanction, concentration, delegation, illustration 3. Look for images for particular words - you will be surprised you’ve already used them a lot in your life. Sometimes words just remind you of something - a song, a band. Spear which is a weapon - I think of Britney Spears. Beetle = a bug, Volkswagen New Beetle car, which looks like a bug, gosling - is a baby goose - and you know who I am thinking about - Ryan Gosling. 4. Some words have several meanings - try to learn at least a couple of meanings to diversify your vocabulary - fire = flame, to let someone go (employee), date = going out with a loved one, date as a fruit, date as a day in a calendarmiss = to skip something, to long to see someone, miss like a girl 5. There are a lot of words that are almost identical in a lot of languages - aquarium, antidepressant, avocado, argument, sensor, caramel, control, cocktail, scandal, organism 6. When you speak it’s very important to remember the words, which I call a safety net - these should be learnt by heart right now. Words include - I, you, she, he, eye, female, etc. - they are all mentioned in my video - 100 Most Common English Words 7. Learn expressions - are you nuts? 🥜 save face, I am all ears, to feel blue- every day words form combinations that have a completely different meaning 8. Talk to yourself when you learn a new word or expression using it. For example, if you liked the video you can comment below “Marina, I was all ears!” Which means that you listened to the video really carefully and wrote things down. 9. Be aware of false friends. Some words in English might sound like a word a your language, but mean a completely different thing. One of the common words is Actual - in English in means current, related to present time. In Spanish Actual is real.Eventuell = perhaps, eventually = in the end ⭐ INSTAGRAM - linguamarina ⭐ LEARN LANGUAGES ABROAD - https://linguatrip.com 📷 FILMING EQUIPMENT VLOGS (outdoors): - Canon G7X - http://amzn.to/2l2aSfE VIDEOS indoors: - Sony A7R II (also perfect for instagram) - http://amzn.to/2DrCNTU - Sony 50 mm lens - http://amzn.to/2G2r4c4 SOUND: - Zoom H4n Pro (better than any built-in camera sound) - http://amzn.to/2DVJzyr - Rode video mic (when I have to use my camera to record the sound) - http://amzn.to/2BhkCKW 🎈PROMOS $20 TO SPEND ON AIRBNB - https://abnb.me/e/B2yx6PJZER $20 TO SPEND ON UBER - http://ubr.to/2k1B89L

TOEFL Speaking Done by a NATIVE SPEAKER!

09:50
TOEFL Speaking is the weirdest and oftentimes the hardest part of the TOEFL test for students. Interested why? Read further. 📗🇺🇸 How I got full financial aid to study in the USA (my book!) - https://goo.gl/fKwah2 TOEFL teacher who helped me score 117 out of 120 - https://goo.gl/bHTscE TOEFL Speaking questions 1 and 2 have nothing to do with the real life, because in real life you don't normally find yourself in a situation where somebody asks you a random question, gives you 15 seconds to think and 45 seconds to speak. And not just speak - TOEFL test makers want you to voice your opinion on a particular matter and back it by two arguments/examples, using profound grammar and vocabulary, connectors and various grammar structures. But the worst part for me were the questions itself. Here is an example of a real TOEFL Speaking question (Q1) - "An airline had a somewhat abstract painting by Picasso of a nude woman on a wall at an airport and some people complained that it should be taken down. What do you think?" What I think? Oh-oh, 15 seconds might not be enough! Main TOEFL Speaking preparation tip - be ready to state your opinion and give at least two arguments to prove it. And practice should be the the largest part of your TOEFL preparation plan. Here are some sample questions for you to practice after you finish watching this video. 1) Should a person shower the night before work or in the morning? 2) When a man takes a woman to dinner, should he pay or should they go "dutch"? (Each pays for him/herself.) 3) Do you prefer reading e-books or real books? 4) Describe something you do during your favorite season. 5) Which is better to lose weight: dieting or exercising? 6) Which is better for a history class: online or classroom learning? ⭐ INSTAGRAM - linguamarina ⭐ FACEBOOK - https://www.facebook.com/marina.mogilko ⭐ MY COMPANY - https://linguatrip.com ⭐ ASK ME A QUESTION - https://goo.gl/dQ9HDw FILMING EQUIPMENT 👍 CANON G7X - http://amzn.to/2l2aSfE 👍 CANON 650D - http://amzn.to/2l0ihNs 👍 RODE MIC - http://amzn.to/2l2cwOq 👍 50 MM LENS - http://amzn.to/2l0rNjr PROMOS $20 TO SPEND ON AIRBNB - https://abnb.me/e/B2yx6PJZER $20 TO SPEND ON UBER - http://ubr.to/2k1B89L -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "HOW I LEARN ENGLISH BY WATCHING TV SHOWS - vocabulary, topics" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uSHsac_-gI -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

10 IDIOMS IN ENGLISH USED IN AMERICA (WORK, BUSINESS RELATED)

09:16
Travel and learn languages abroad (linguatrip.com) - https://goo.gl/aZYuXA 25 idioms in American English - http://bit.ly/2GvWQxV Get your texts corrected by a native speaker - https://goo.gl/cFhXes This English lesson will help you improve spoken English and sound more American! Idioms widely used in American English to talk about work and money: Expressions related to money Put your money where your mouth is - stop talking about what you can do and show me; or if you’re so confident, let’s bet on it (put money on it) Rags to riches - the American dream summed up in one expression; showing up as a poor immigrant and becoming rich through hard work - rags represent the dirty, ripped clothing of a poor person My two cents - giving your opinion when it wasn’t exactly asked for Coin (verb) a new term - to make a word or expression widely used by using it in a popular text or speech. example: Shakespeare is responsible for coining many English words and expressions in common use today. Cost an arm and a leg - way too expensive, not only do they want all your cash, but they want your body parts too - My new computer cost me an arm and a leg. Expressions related to work To wear many hats - to do tasks that would normally be different roles in a company; to do sales and also accounting. It’s very common in small companies where a few employees do all the necessary jobs. Back to the drawing board- meaning we have to start over; whatever plan we were working on has failed and we have to start at the beginning of the planning process now. The bottom line - the most important thing in a business; earning money. The bottom line is your profit margin. “The CEO doesn’t care about anything but the bottom line.” To cook the books - dishonest accounting. Lying in the accounting documents, hiding income from the tax collector. Cold calling - sales calls to people who don’t expect to be called; cold represents the fact that they have not been warmed up to the idea of buying something from you; in the past, calling also meant knocking on people’s doors, luckily this practice a]is not so common anymore. Imagine someone ringing your bell to try to sell you a vacuum cleaner or a new frying pan. Expressions related to love and dating Ghosted - a rude way to end a relationship in the cell phone age; to disappear like a ghost and just stop replying to their calls and text messages Clingy - this adjective is used for someone who is too attached in a relationship; calling all the time, getting jealous, etc. the same word is used for when your clothing sticks to your hair after being in the dryer (static cling) and for good reason Out of your league - someone who is so attractive that you couldn’t possibly date them; in baseball there are minor and major leagues - only the major league is on TV, the others are not famous and they don’t play games against each other Wingman - a friend who will go out with you and help you meet someone by flirting with the other person’s friends; it’s possible to have a wing woman, but of course it’s usually men. One man alone at the bar trying to flirt with women is seen as a little bit creepy and certainly not easy. Head over heels - to be totally in love with someone so that your body has figuratively flipped upside down; originally heels over head, but it changed in the 1800s maybe because it sounds a little better 📗🇺🇸 My book about how I got full financial aid to study in the USA (my story + tips) - https://goo.gl/fKwah2 ⭐ INSTAGRAM - linguamarina ⭐ LEARN LANGUAGES ABROAD - https://linguatrip.com 📝 Get your English text corrected instantly - https://fluent.express/ 📷 FILMING EQUIPMENT VLOGS (outdoors): - Canon G7X - http://amzn.to/2l2aSfE VIDEOS indoors: - Sony A7R II (also perfect for instagram) - http://amzn.to/2DrCNTU - Sony 50 mm lens - http://amzn.to/2G2r4c4 SOUND: - Zoom H4n Pro (better than any built-in camera sound) - http://amzn.to/2DVJzyr - Rode video mic (when I have to use my camera to record the sound) - http://amzn.to/2BhkCKW 🎈PROMOS $20 TO SPEND ON AIRBNB - https://abnb.me/e/B2yx6PJZER $20 TO SPEND ON UBER - http://ubr.to/2k1B89L
