Born in October What I Want - Red Dog Studio Session XII

04:26
Born In October performing at Red Dog Studio Session XII on September 2nd 2017 Synergistic and emotive harmonies along with wistful finger picking and splashes of delicate rhythms take you on a gentle carpet ride over mountain streams... City boy Matt Thomson (vocals, guitar) and country girl Rachel Webster (vocals, guitar, ukulele and tambourine!) comprise indie/folk duo Born in October. After meeting at a songwriter night in Sydney and at the wise suggestion of a much-loved artist and mentor, Rachel and Matt began writing songs together, forging an instant musical connection resulting in the eventual formation of the delightful duo at the end of 2016, and kicking off this year with appearances at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Burn By Night, and the Nundle Go For Gold Festival. Currently in the studio working on their debut EP, the pair continue to pen new material, whilst nibbling copious quantities of grapes and nuts (their secret weapon song writing fuel of choice). And believe it or not, they were both born in October! https://www.facebook.com/borninoctoberband/

Rita B , Don't Be a Dick - Red Dog studio Session XVIII

02:45
Rita B performing at Red Dog Studio Session XVIII June 2nd 2018 RITA B Rita B (Bianca Meier) is a woman with something to say. She's a Sydney-based Alt Folk artist; raw and honest and makes music to build strength in a conflicting society. Her music is unfiltered, uncorrupted and totally unapologetic. With her latest self-produced debut album released in September 2017 ’With Pockets Nearly Empty And A Glass Almost Full’ receiving affectionate attention from Sydney locals through FBi and 2SER radio play and through playing an extensive amount of Sydney shows both solo and with her band. Rita B won the hearts of many through the innocent folk rock vibe that comes with her music, where it seems everything is all peaches and cream, until she opens her mouth and comfortably dishes out all kinds of contradictions and hypocrisies that almost every human being commits. The breadwinner is all in the lyrics and the fantastically blunt delivery and currently she is focusing on carving her name beyond Sydney's live music and recording scene. Rita B also cuts a mesmerising presence on stage and her one of a kind voice has to be heard to be believed. https://www.facebook.com/musicritab/ http://www.ritabmusic.com/

03:42
DEN HANRAHAN performing at Red Dog Studio Session XVII May 5th 2018 Den Hanrahan is a singer/songwriter, storyteller, guitar, banjo and harp player, stomp-box stomper, front bar larrikin and outback romper. His raucous ballads collide all over the history of a misspent youth in a country with enough bushrangin’, pub-brawlin’, truck-drivin’, gold-pannin’, wombat-neckin’, mutton-stealin’ lore to fill a thousand more. He plays like he drives, fast and ferocious, burning out motors and his good wife’s patience as he treks the country, rocking roadhouses, festivals and pubs. Bold and bodacious, his shows can be as alarmingly intimate as they are good old-fashioned fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-jePXNmiV0 https://denhanrahan.wordpress.com/

Sam Newton Hazel Eyes - Red Dog Studio Session XIV

Sam Newton Performing at Red Dog Studio Session XIV December 2nd 2017 SAM NEWTON Sam Newton writes songs that dig deep into melancholy, devotion and flawed and fascinating characters. He has the uncanny ability to find a direct line into the central themes of his songs with a raw and poetic honesty. Having served his apprenticeship on the Sydney music scene, Sam took things to the next level, in 2016 undertaking the challenge of writing 100 songs in 100 days before releasing his second album, Violet Road. The result is a musical palette that is unflinchingly honest with effortlessly well developed themes touching on infatuation, mental health, relationships both damaged and on the ascent. We are super excited to have Sam at this session! https://youtu.be/H2D9bBunbTg?list=PLQeqUg-lbojlk5JI_MCUHJajG5ieSBd45 http://samnewtonmusic.com/
