You have the ideas. We have the resources. Together, we can bring your product idea to life. Learn more at www.EdisonNation.com: http://bit.ly/1oxgQ9d You know the feeling when some everyday product lets you down. "I could have designed this better myself," you think. James Dyson is a man who likes to make things work better. With his research team, he has developed products that have achieved sales of over $6 billion worldwide. In 1978, James Dyson noticed how the air filter in the Ballbarrow spray-finishing room was constantly clogging with powder. To fix this, he designed and built an industrial cyclone tower, which removed the powder particles by exerting centrifugal forces. He wondered, "could the same principle work in a vacuum cleaner?" James Dyson set to work. 5 years and 5,127 prototypes later, the world's first bagless vacuum cleaner from Dyson arrived.

Edison Nation Insider Licensing Program

03:38
Do you have a patented or patent-pending product idea you want to get on store shelves? Edison Nation exists to get product ideas out of your head and onto retail shelves, all at no risk to you. Visit: www.EdisonNation.com/InsiderLicensingProgram to learn more. Edison Nation members who upgrade to our Insider membership are eligible to submit their patented or patent-pending ideas to our Insider Licensing Program for exclusive representation from our licensing experts. Here's how it works: Preliminary Review. Our team will first perform a preliminary review to ensure your invention meets the program criteria. Factors that might keep your idea from moving forward include: your invention is too cost-prohibitive, has engineering challenges and/or major players in the marketplace have already launched products similar to yours. If none of these apply, your idea will be approved and move on to the preparation phase. Preparation. At this time, we perform a "best partner" review. We take inventory of our retail and manufacturing contacts and begin to map out just who should learn more about your idea. We conduct a gap analysis and visit the store shelves to understand the market and to get an understanding as to where your idea fits. We develop the materials necessary to position your invention in the best possible light. Pitching. Your idea moves into "finalist" mode and our team begins proactively pitching your idea. Our team is on the phone, on email and using our proprietary presentation system to get the attention of the industry's best. When a company expresses interest, we move into term sheets and negotiations. If a company expresses disinterest, we take note of this, too. We stay in constant contact with the licensee until we negotiate the best possible deal for you. Outcome. In the end, the market decides what products will be successful. There are no guarantees. When the deal is signed, we'll share the good news with you. If for some reason we are not successful finding the best licensing partner for you, we'll let you know why and provide you this straightforward feedback as soon as possible. Developing innovative products is not only our specialty, but it is our passion. While standing over her stove early one morning, watching the water boil a few eggs, Betsy came across her "kooky" concept. What about a heat-resistant, egg-shaped container that prevented hairline fractures? One that kept you from laboring over egg shells, the notorious bane of garbage disposals around the country? Betsy's "Eggies" idea was quickly selected from an Edison Nation As Seen On TV search, and according to our partner, early indications show that Eggies is on track to becoming one of the best DRTV products of the year. Beginning this summer and fall, you'll be able to find Eggies in Walgreens, Bed Bath & Beyond and many more stores across the country. Do you have an idea that you would like to see on the market? Eric Huber, You're a Season 4 Everyday Edison!

02:55
Edison Nation CEO, Louis Foreman, tells inventor Eric Huber, he's been chosen for Season 4 of "Everyday Edisons!" Eric Huber has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. As early as 8 years old, he began coming up with ideas, writing them down and sometimes turning those ideas into creations. He once even built a 5" tall, fully functional guillotine for a book report on the French Revolution. At the age of 16, Eric began Easels Creations, a start-up born from his love of woodworking in his father's garage, where he designed and made decorative and functional easels for businesses, students, and artists. Seeing the success of his small company while still in high school, Eric realized the possibilities related to designing, making and selling things, which officially led to a lifelong passion for inventing. Throughout Eric's career, he explored many opportunities, including a brief stint as an actor and model; a second start-up, IDEA, inc., which supplied products and services to the local Oregon entertainment industry; and his current position as vice president of one of the largest commercial playground and outdoor recreation rep companies in the country. Even still, the inventing bug never left Eric, who continued to invent on the side as a hobby, creating a portfolio of 90+ ideas. In 2009, things would take a turn and inventing would become more than just a hobby. Eric, with his portfolio in tow, attended a Las Vegas inventor convention, where the featured speaker was Edison Nation CEO, Louis Foreman. Inspired by his words, Eric approached Louis to ask for his advice and was introduced to Everyday Edisons and Edison Nation. He began submitting ideas to Edison Nation and auditioned for Everyday Edisons during the Season 4 casting call. It was there that a household product idea sparked by one of his wife's unique housecleaning methods caught the team's attention. Now as a Season 4 Everyday Edison, watch along to see if Eric's hard work will pay off and his unique product idea will become a household name! You have the right ideas. We have the right resources. Have you ever thought, "wouldn't it be cool if…"? We exist to get product ideas out of your head and onto retail shelves, all at no risk to you. Learn more at EdisonNation.com: http://bit.ly/1oxgQ9d Decades ago - before eBay, the Home Shopping Network, and QVC joined our everyday lexicon consumers actually shopped in stores. Nobody could even contemplate shopping for the holidays without weaving through endless lines of bumper-to-bumper traffic and squeezing inside crowded, overflowing shopping malls, just to spar with strangers over this year's 'must-have' Christmas gifts. And then came Bob Circosta. Forever changing the purchasing habits of the American public, Bob Circosta helped invent an entirely new industry: home shopping and electronic retailing. And now? Between eBay, home shopping channels, and infomercials, the electronic retailing industry rakes in over 30 billion dollars annually. That number surpasses the yearly revenues for McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's... combined.
