How to design a successful logo? How to build a famous brand for your business? Some of the most well-known logos in the world were purposefully designed to indicate something much more than simple beauty. In fact, it seems that in some cases, every line, curve, and color has meaning behind it. Adidas, Apple, BMW, Coca-Cola, Toyota… We see these famous brands everywhere but never consider what their logos exactly mean. Curious to know the secret? Watch the 16 famous logos with a hidden meaning you've never noticed. #logomeaning #logosecret # Hyundai 0:33 The letter ’Н’ symbolizes two people – a client and a representative of the company – shaking hands. Adidas 0:52 The current logo is three stripes at an angle which together form a triangle. This symbolizes a mountain, which in turn represents the challenges that all sportsmen have to overcome day after day. Apple 1:21 Rob Janoff, the designer who came up with the world-famous Apple company logo, explained his idea in one of his interviews. He bought a bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Vaio 1:58 The first two letters of the Vaio logo symbolize an analogue wave. The last two are similar to the numbers 1 and 0 — that is, symbols of a digital signal. Amazon 2:14 The orange arrow is similar to a smile because the company wants its customers to be satisfied. The arrow is also stretched between the letters ’A’ and ’Z’, in a hint that the company sells absolutely every product you can imagine. Baskin Robbins 2:40 The pink-colored parts of the "BR" section make up the number 31, which is how many ice cream flavors Baskin Robbins used to famously sell. Toyota 2:56 The logo represents a stylized image of a needle eye with a thread passing through it. This is a hint at the company’s past – they used to produce weaving machines. Continental 3:28 Continental, a famous car tire producer, has a logo in which the first two letters depict a car wheel. Formula 1 3:41 If you look carefully at the white space between the letter ’F’ and the red stripes, you can see the number 1. Pinterest 3:59 On Pinterest, people collect images they like from across the Internet and ’pin’ them to their online boards. That’s why the image of a pin is hidden in the letter P. Beats 4:17 Beats, an audio equipment producer based in the USA, uses a logo in which the letter ’B’ looks like headphones on a person’s head. Toblerone 4:32 The famous chocolate company based in Bern, Switzerland, has a silhouette of a bear in its logo. That's because Bern is sometimes called a city of bears. BMW 4:55 The logo is simply a part of the Bavarian flag, the area of Germany where the company originated. LG 5:18 The logo is a stylized image of a person’s face. According to the company, this represents its aspiration to have human relations with their customers. Evernote 5:34 The corner of the elephant’s ear is folded over in a similar way how people fold the corner of a page to make notes. Coca-Cola 5:57 In the space between the letters ’O’ and ’L’, you can see the Danish flag. It’s purely a coincidence. Nevertheless, Coca-Cola has used this as part of its marketing campaigns in the Scandinavian country. If you’ve enjoyed this video, hit that thumbs up button! The MGM Lion - The movie maker Metro Goldwyn Mayer is one of the world’s favourite corporate logos. Firstly because it tells you the adverts have finished and the movie is finally starting. Secondly, because it has a massive roaring lion in it. The Captain Morgan pirate - The Captain Morgan pirate is one of the best-known corporate mascots in the world. His likeness has graced bottles of rum since the 50s, and inspired this NFL celebration, landing the Captain in hot water. Chupa Chups - Hands up who likes Chupa Chups! Of course, we all do. They’re a worldwide sensation. The gold standard in lollipops since 1958. This sweet on a stick was invented by Spanish candyman Enric Bernat, but they were not as immediately popular as you might think. Android - Officially, the little green man who greets you when you open your Android device doesn’t have a name. Some of the team at Google call him Bugdroid , as he’s always chasing down bugs. Those crazy computer guys! McDonalds - There are many myths and legends associated with the McDonalds Golden Arches, one of the most recognisable logos in the world. Is it inspired by the letter M? Apple - If you’re not watching this video on a little green Bugdroid device, you’re probably watching it on an Apple screen. That famous logo, the apple with a bite taken out of it, is simple, effective, as familiar as your own face. But what you may not know, is that it’s not the original Apple logo. The Bacardi bats - Back to rum, and the most famous rum brand in the world, Bacardi. If you’ve ever wondered why Bacardi bottles are adorned with bats, our story begins in 1862, in Cuba. Jagermeister - Staying with the hard stuff, it’s the favourite green tipple of apres-skiers everywhere, Jagermeister. On every Jagermeister bottle, you’ll see a crucifix and a stag’s head, and you may be asking yourself, what’s that got to do with Jagerbombs? Well, it starts in 727 AD with a hunter named Hubert. Nike - These days graphic designers spend weeks creating a logo. They spend their ‘blue-sky thinking’ and testing their ideas on focus groups. Walt Disney’s signature - When people ask you for your signature, it’s because your signature is yours and yours alone, that’s how they know it’s you. When people asked Walt Disney for his signature, they were invariably confused.

10 Secrets Hidden Inside Famous Logos 2018
Branding nowadays is absolutely everywhere you look. We are constantly bombarded with so many icons and logos that we rarely stop to look further into them, but there are some very interesting and bizarre secrets hiding within these 10 famous logos! 1. Hyundai Bet you think the H logo is just the first letter of the South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai? Of course you do! But it actually represents two figures: the happy client shaking hands with the Hyundai salesman, cleverly projecting the subliminal message of a successful car purchase. 2. Apple It was Rob Janoff who was tasked with creating the apple logo back in 1977. Janoff bought a bag of apples and spent the week sketching them, trying to represent the perfect angle where the fruit couldn´t be mistaken for a cherry. This was when he added a bite mark and stumbled across the similarity between Bite and Byte. This was definitely a selling point for Steve Jobs. 3. Vaio The first two letters in the computer company's name symbolize a digital waveform and the io is designed to look like a 1 and a 0, representing binary and the mix of analog and digital. Also the melody that sounds on startup actually derives from the dialtone sounds on a telephone keypad on typing V-A-I-O 4. Amazon Always aiming to please, Amazon designed their logo to represent a smile, projecting a sense of satifaction in their brand. Not only that, but the arrow also starts at ´a´ and finishes at 'z' implying that the company stocks every product you could possibly desire. 5. Toyota T-o-y-o-t-a. All the letters of the companies name can be found within the logo. But what does it represent? You're thinking A big strong buffalo's head or a cowboy with a hat, right? Wrong! It actually represents a needle and thread! This Japanese car manufacturer actually began making weaving machines and keeps its logo to this day! 6. Continental Sometimes overlooked, the continental logo is simple and clever. The first two letters are designed to symbolize a car wheel. 7. Toblerone This awkward-to-eat chocolate treat doesn't just have a simple mountain in its logo. Toblerone is made in Bern, Switzerland, so it´s no surprise to see one of the Swiss alps in its logo. But it also hides a secret bear hidden in the mountain, as Bern is known as the city of bears and the bear symbol is heavily decorated throughout the city. 8. BMW The German motor company started out making airplanes in 1916 and many think that the checker pattern in its logo represents the spinning propellers of an airplane. But it is actually just the design of the Bavarian flag, the part of Germany where the company originated. 9. Domino's Pizza In 1960 College dropout Tom Monaghan borrowed $900 to by a tiny pizza placed called Dominic's. 5 years later he bought 2 more locations. The former owner refused Tom the permission to use his name in the franchise so Tom turned it into Domino's. The dice in the logo represent the first restaurant that he bought, followed by the next two, and he had planned on adding numbers on every new opening. That was before he realized how big the franchise would become. 10. Unilever Who is Unilever, right? It's actually a huge corporation which owns over 400 famous brands. You've only got to look on the back of any of these popular products to find their logo hiding there. (Axe, Lipton, Ben and Jerry's, Dove, Heartbrand, Hellman's) But that's not all, the actual unilever logo is made up of 25 smaller logos, each with a rich meaning. A strand of hair or an icecream representing various brands, to more obscure references, like this bee... Which of these logos surprised you the most? Comment Below!

How to Build Your Brand With Big-Brand Know-how
Did you know that 60% of branding is perception and only 40% is about your product or service? So the question is, do you want your brand to be 1. A highly recognised name with great visibility 2. Distinctive, different, memorable and much loved by your ideal customers 3. Commanding a premium with rapidly growing sales so you get paid what you deserve One of the top reasons SME / SMB businesses fail is because they don't build a strong brand even though they invest in a good logo, website and brochures. If you want to increase your sales you need to invest in your branding which goes way beyond just design. Your logo, website and brochures are not your brand because they are merely the visual identifiers or badges associated with your product or service. In fact, branding is NOT marketing or design but the bedrock foundation underpinning your whole business so getting your brand strategy right is critical to your success. You see, your brand is the story, the personality, the promise it makes to meet your customers' expectations in certain ways, the collection of experiences your customers have every time they engage with your brand through your products, your services and the people that represent and champion your brand. So when I'm running one of my Brand Building Blueprint Masterminds and I ask participants to list or talk about brands they love and why they love them, some of the ones typically mention include Apple and McDonalds. Participants talk about Apple as 'cool, really great and easy to use, innovative, premium, love the genius bar, great interaction to meet customers needs, and the sometimes talk about it being secretive too.' Or McDonalds - simple, easy, enjoyment, a quick treat for the family with menus, toys and activities that are kid-friendly. Interestingly they don't talk about Apple in terms of technology or gigabytes or McDonalds in terms of just burgers and chips. So when you think about it, its pretty amazing what those brands have achieved. They've got people all around the world feeling something similar about their brands, a collective shared sense of like-minded feelings and associations. They've given those brands meaning, rationally and emotionally, that all their ideal customers identify with and, most importantly value. It all sounds very nebulous but when you think about it brands live in people hearts and minds and branding is the activities engaged in by the brand owners to help people feel they way they do about those products or services all of which gives makes them highly recognised and gives customers a compelling reason to buy, repeatedly. It's only when you address those brand fundamentals that you can start looking at design, aesthetics, logos and marketing communications to get your message out into the world. Without this you're attempting to market something that has no meaning and if it has no real meaning its not going to attract your ideal customers or command a premium. That's what a brand and branding is all about. So join me inside the Persona Brand Building Blueprint™ Mastermind to unlock the exact systems and processes used to build standout brands with big-brand know-how. This Brand Building Blueprint Mastermind is perfect for you if: 1. You're a business leader, owner, manager, entrepreneur or consultant 2. You've already achieved a certain level of growth and you want to build a stronger standout brand 3. You want to be perceived to be more valuable so you can command a premium 4. You want to stop selling at low prices or discounting 5. You want to scale, grow faster, increase visibility, credibility and sales This Brand Building Blueprint Mastermind is highly relevant regardless of what stage your brand is at in its life-cycle because a brand needs ongoing management and regular re-evaluation so whether it's an understated refresh, complete overhaul or new launch to market the systems used are invaluable because they enable you to get results fast. The focus is on brand strategy as the bedrock foundation underpinning your business, not design, so you work on your brand codifying and mapping it out using the Persona Brand Building Blueprint System with my direction. Every strong, successful brand is underpinned by a robust, well mapped out strategy because without that it's a bit like going on a road trip in a foreign country without a map and hoping to get to your destination expeditiously. I see so many new entrepreneurs who spend too much time on branding. What kind of logo should I have? What font expresses my personality? What's the best color that reflects my company culture? You should focus on building a profitable business, on building relationships, on improving the quality of your products and services, on building customer loyalty and having a high ROI! Once you're there, you can think about getting a better logo and improving your branding! "BRANDING IS ENHANCING WHAT IS ALREADY THERE YOU CAN't FAKE AUTHENTICITY!" – Tim Queen So what Tim? Should I have no logo or company name? No! Any name or logo is good enough! Think about Google. If you had no memory of the last 20 years, that name would sound stupid. Why doesn't it today? Because Google has great products and people associate their good feelings with name and logo. Remember, you can always change your company name, rebrand or get a new logo! Focus on building a business first, then about improving your branding second! What do you think is most important? REMINDER - if there is a pink/purple square beside name that means owned by company who tests on animals and money goes to company who tests, you decide on that, but to me i see it as paying for animal testing.http://leapingbunny.org/shopping.php Leaping Bunny Info. and FAQ's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KVOBD... PETA companies who DO TEST on animals (reminder, the do not test list is NOT RELIABLE up to date in my and many other opinions and therefore would not recommend it).http://www.peta.org/living/beauty-and... Veggiebeauty form letter to ask companies if they test or not (maker of pumpkin & poppy cosmetics)http://veggiebeauty.com/form-letter To Whomever it May Concern:I am doing research on animal testing, and I need to verify a few key points about your company. 1. Does your company test ingredients or finished products on animals?2. Do you test ingredients or products on animals through a 3rd party?3. Do your manufacturers test ingredients or products on animals? 4. Are you owned or affiliated with any companies that test products or ingredients on animals?5. Do you/your parent company currently or have plans to market and sell your products in the Chinese market, which requires animal testing by law to sell in that country?Thank you so much for the information. IF YOU WISH TO ASK VEGAN QUESTION:7. Could you provide a list of all of your current vegan items available for purchase? ASKING COMPANIES TO JOIN LEAPING BUNNY SAMPLE LETTER (please edit to what feels right for you!) Hello, I am writing to you because it is my understanding from previous emails with you, that you and your manufactures or truly do not test on animals, no 3rd party teasing or sell in China where it is required by law. I am also glad you are not owned or affiliated by any company that tests on animals, THANK YOU! Many people on youtube channels, blogs, and elsewhere on the internet, have been asking that more companies go beyond saying they are cruelty free and prove it by jointing the leaping bunny standard as many companies around the world have done, such as famous brand FACE ATELIER. The Logo is also the only international icon that represents the most stringent non-animal testing standard. I do feel that if you do join, not only is this an ethical choice, but from a marketing perspective, will increase your sales dramatically as leaping bunny is the most respected cruelty free standard in the world. After you have completed the forms, it only takes about a week to be officially certified, be sure to follow up :) How much does it cost a company to join? There are no costs associated with joining the Leaping Bunny Program. However, companies that choose to license the Leaping Bunny Logo must pay a one-time fee, which operates on a sliding scale, based on a company's gross annual sales. IS THIS SOMETHING YOU ARE WILLING TO DO? THE BEST PART IS, IT'S FREE!

What is Branding? Lorraine Carter - Persona Branding and Design
I'm often asked to explain what a brand or branding is and its sometimes easier to say what it isn't first because so many people have varying ideas or views of what branding is. The things that come up most commonly is that people think a brand is a logo or website or letterhead or a piece of packaging, but those things aren't the brand, they are just the visual identifiers or badges associated with the product or service. A brand is the meaning we give to a product or service, how we feel about something in our hearts and minds. Its the story, the personality, the promise a brand makes to meet our expectations in certain ways, the collection of experiences we have every time we engage with a brand through the product, its services or people that work for it, that all collectively make up what a brand is. So if for example when I'm running one of my Mastermind Branding Workshops and I ask people to list or talk about brands they love and why they love them, some of the ones typically mentioned include Apple and McDonalds. Participants talk about Apple as 'cool, really great and easy to use, innovative, premium, love the genius bar, great interaction to meet customers needs, and they sometimes talk about it being secretive too. Or McDonalds - simple, easy, enjoyment, a quick treat for the family with menus, toys and activities that are kid friendly. If I draw an apple or the golden arches, they identify the brands straight away but the things that really get people talking are how those brands make them feel and the experiences they associate with the brands from when they've been using or experiencing them. Interestingly they don't talk about Apple in terms of technology or gigabytes or McDonalds in terms of just burgers and chips. So when you think about it its pretty amazing what those brands have achieved. They've got people all around the world feeling something similar about their brands, a collective shared sense of similar feelings and associations. They've given those brands a meaning (rationally and emotionally) that all their target audience identifies with and values. It all sounds very ambiguous but when you think about it brands live in people hearts and minds and branding is the activities engaged in by the brand owners to help people feel they way they do about those products or services all of which gives them a compelling reason to buy, repeatedly. So I apply that thinking in terms of well • what does your brand stand for? • what do you want to be seen as in the world? • what do you want to articulate to express your brand’s mission and purpose? • what do you want your style of interaction to be? • what's your positioning? and • how do you want people to feel about you? • what do you want people to tell other people about you? We then drill that down to creating your brand story, your brand values, your brand promise, mission, vision and purpose. These are the foundations, the heart of creating a brand, the key ingredients of what underlays and provides the direction and strategy for how your brand looks or sounds in terms of its name, logo, copywriting, website and customer experiences. It's only when you address those brand fundamentals that you can start look at design, aesthetics, logos and branding strategy to get your message out into the world. Without this you're attempting to market something that has no meaning and if it has no real meaning it's not going to attract your ideal audience or command a premium. Thats what a brand and branding is all about. Need a silly t-shirt to surprise a friend with? Printing it yourself is the cheapest way to make that happen! Kids can even get the hang of printing VERY quickly and be apart of the entire process, which is awesome! Here are a few things that I didn’t cover in the video that I think will give you better results. Use high dpi screens. These provide finer detail, and have significantly improved my prints. Have someone hold your frame so that you can use two hands to evenly pull the squeegee. If you don’t have access to a dryer for heat setting, you can cover the print with a piece of paper and iron it for a minute. If using a dark material, look for an ink labeled “super opaque”. You’ll get a brighter colored print. You’ll need a screen and squeegee to start. Also, some photo emulsion for screen printing. Add water to the sensitizer, then mix it with the emulsion. Mix thoroughly until it’s an even green color. Pour just a small amount onto the screen. Use the squeegee to spread it evenly on both sides of the screen. Try to get even and full coverage by alternating directions and sides. Dry the emulsion in front of a fan and IN THE DARK. After it’s dry, quickly lay your artwork, backwards, on the back of the screen. You can print your art on transparencies at most office supplies stores or copy centers. Tape the art in place, then lay on a piece of glass to hold it against the screen. Apply a very bright light for 30-45 minutes. You can also use sunlight, but the time may vary depending on cloud cover and placement. The areas covered by your art do not get exposed when you remove the transparency. Use a light spray and soft toothbrush to wash out the unexposed emulsion. Be careful not to use too much force when spraying it out or you will remove emulsion around your design as well. Use painters tape to mask any areas that you don’t want to print yet, or areas where the emulsion isn’t intact. Layout your shirt on smooth, flat surface and remove wrinkles. Place your design where you want it to be printed. Lay a thick bead of ink above the art, extended past both ends. Be sure to add extra ink above large areas to be printed. Even though I’m working alone here, you’ll have better luck to have someone hold your screen, then use two hands to evenly pull the squeegee fully across your screen. Remove the screen and wash out all of the ink before it dries. After the ink dries, run your shirt through a clothes dryer for 5 minutes to heat set the print. The screens can be reused by cleaning them with emulsion remover. Spread a small amount across both sides of the screen. Then use a hose to wash out the emulsion until the screen is clean. Dark inks will stain the material of the screen, but this will not affect future prints. Just make sure to remove all of the emulsion. Second channel: bit.ly/iltms-2
