It’s actually a real ah-ha moment, such an obvious idea, you wonder why this isn’t in common use already. The idea is quite simple. You first create a digital image where software works to deform the image to compensate for its eventual application onto a three-dimensional surface. The pre-deformed image is printed onto a plastic stock which is then fed into a vacuum forming machine. The thermoforming process creates a full-color 3D plastic copy over a previously-printed mold. 2- BLACKBELT 3D PRINTER : https://goo.gl/L6eomH We are launching a truly disruptive 3D printer. Weighing only a third of a gram, the robot can swim, climb an incline, traverse rough terrain, and carry a load twice its weight. Other than the self-folding plastic sheet, the robot’s only component is a permanent magnet affixed to its back. Its motions are controlled by external magnetic fields --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THANK YOU ! for watching and don’t forget to leave a comment if you like the video : ) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Top Awesome Inventions you would love to have . What is INNOVATION MANAGEMENT? What does INNOVATION MANAGEMENT mean? INNOVATION MANAGEMENT meaning - INNOVATION MANAGEMENT definition - INNOVATION MANAGEMENT explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Innovation management is the management of innovation processes. It refers both to product and organizational innovation. Innovation management includes a set of tools that allow managers and engineers to cooperate with a common understanding of processes and goals. Innovation management allows the organization to respond to external or internal opportunities, and use its creativity to introduce new ideas, processes or products. It is not relegated to R&D; it involves workers at every level in contributing creatively to a company's product development, manufacturing and marketing. By utilizing innovation management tools, management can trigger and deploy the creative capabilities of the work force for the continuous development of a company. Common tools include brainstorming, virtual prototyping, product lifecycle management, idea management, TRIZ, Phase–gate model, project management, product line planning and portfolio management. The process can be viewed as an evolutionary integration of organization, technology and market by iterating series of activities: search, select, implement and capture. Innovation processes can either be pushed or pulled through development. A pushed process is based on existing or newly invented technology, that the organization has access to, and tries to find profitable applications for. A pulled process is based on finding areas where customers needs are not met, and then find solutions to those needs. To succeed with either method, an understanding of both the market and the technical problems are needed. By creating multi-functional development teams, containing both engineers and marketers, both dimensions can be solved. Innovation management is based on some of the ideas put forth by the Austrian economist Joseph Schumpeter, working during the 1930s, who identified innovation as a significant factor in economic growth. His book “Capitalism, Socialism and Democracy” first fully developed the concept of creative destruction. Innovation management helps an organization grasp an opportunity and use it to create and introduce new ideas, processes, or products industriously. Creativity is the basis of innovation management; the end goal is a change in services or business process. Innovative ideas are the result of two consecutive steps, imitation and invention. The process can be viewed as an evolutionary integration of organization, technology, and market, by iterating series of activities: search, select, implement and capture.

9 WORST Company Failures!
Dumbest ways companies have failed to predict the future or made decisions that bankrupted them! Whatever happened to Blockbuster and Borders? Find out on this countdown of epic business blunders! #9. “Kodak”- The Eastman Kodak Company was founded in 1888 and was the most successful company in the photography industry during the 20th Century. They were the leaders in bringing the cutting edge of photographic technology and easy to use cameras to the hands of consumers throughout the world. But Kodak almost met its demise at the hands of a product that it actually invented: digital photography. Kodak invented this technology in 1975, but failed to jump on the innovation, believing that common applications for it were well into the future. Early on, the company thought that the high cost and complexity that would be needed to make a push into the digital front weren’t in Kodak’s best interests. So, Kodak put digital photography to the side to be picked back up when the time was financially advantageous, but they waited too long. By the time they switched gears, they faced competitors who had been perfecting their business models with digital photography at the center, whereas Kodak’s model was still dependent on printed photos. While other companies made deals with websites, phone companies and focused on online based imaging, Kodak floundered and in 2012 filed for Bankruptcy. They have since come back from bankruptcy and started specializing in producing smartphones and tablets. #8. “Pan American”- From 1927 until 1991, Pan Am was the largest airline company in the United States, but due to bad foresight, callous labor practices and an uncontrollable disaster this global giant quickly met its end. The company basically had a monopoly on overseas travel until World War II but was dealt its first major blow when other strong airline companies began to up their game. Pan Am fought off the competitors with its innovations such as jumbo jets and an advanced system for making reservations but these innovations couldn’t match the corporate aptitude and human relations that the other airlines dealt with more astutely. One of the main reasons for Pan Am’s failure was ironically due to its early successes. Because of the sheer size of its fleet, it was the company hit the hardest by the 1973 oil crisis. Just before the crisis, Pan Am had just purchased a number of brand new gas-guzzling Boeing 747s and was forced to dramatically raise ticket prices to recuperate. As it was trying to recover from this setback it had also become a target of terrorism in the Middle East. To the terrorists Pan Am was a symbol of the United States overseas because it was the largest U.S. airline servicing the area. During the Gulf War, in the midst of financial hardships and battles with labor unions, Pan American 103 on a transatlantic flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Detroit was blown up by Libyan nationals above the Scottish town of Lockerbie. The incident scared even more customers away from flying Pan Am and many travel agents would no longer book flights on their planes. All of these events and poor managing of them led Pan American International Airways to declare bankruptcy and completely fold in 1991. #7. “Borders”- Tom and Louis Borders opened their first bookstore in 1971. Their vast selection of books and innovative inventory system turned them into the second biggest chain of book megastores. Due to years of miscalculating the future of book consumption, the bookstore all but vanished in 2011. It all started in the mid 90s when Amazon and other online stores hit the scene. Instead of developing their own website and focusing on online sales, the company decided to further their storefront endeavors and expanded into Europe and Asia opening hundreds of stores. Their competitor Barnes and Noble, did the opposite by preparing for the digital age, perfecting their online sales system and focusing on their storefront operations in the United States. When Borders did start to catch on to the online market they were already far behind and decided to use Amazon as a host for such sales. Because of this, as more and more sales were made online, instead of receiving 100% of the profit they had to share with Amazon. Borders also was caught in the past by devoting lots of money and inventory towards DVDs and CDs at a time when digital music and video was on the rise. While Barnes and Noble developed it’s own e-reader to grab paperless book market by the horns, Borders was extremely slow to adapt to the change. All of these factors came to a boiling point in 2006 when, after several years of losing millions of dollars Borders filed for bankruptcy. By 2011, Borders realized there was no way out and closed most of its remaining stores. The only stores remaining are in southeast asia where it remain Borders in name only, as they were sold to a company named Popular Holdings.

The latest innovations in health and fitness technology
(12 Jan 2018) LEADIN: An infrared massage bed and an all-terrain wheelchair are just some the latest health and fitness products on show at CES in Las Vegas. Companies are showcasing technology advances and some fun gimmicks that they say could improve the lives of millions. STORYLINE: The latest innovations in health and fitness technology are taking centre stage this week at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Industry experts say many of these products have one major thing in common - big data. "This year is very much about personalisation. They've always had data about you. It's a big issue, data privacy versus the conveniences in your life, but people are starting to see the benefits of giving up privacy," says Robin Raskin from tech conference producer, Living in Digital Times. Dozens of companies are utilizing data collected from consumers for everything from helping people get better sleep... "We have three-million nights of data already so we know a lot about sleep," says Roy Raymann from Sleep Core Labs. ..to assisting stroke patients with rehabilitation. "Once you put it on, all the motions that you're making with the glove on is recognised by the software, it actually is measurable. So instead of saying your husband has been better, now you can say your husband has been making improvement by 20 degrees," says Scott Kim from NEOFECT Rehabilitation Solutions. While some products may seem more frivolous, such as an infrared massage bed or a smart scale, other companies bill their products as potentially lifesaving. "It's the first wearable blood pressure monitor in the world," says Jeff Ray from Omron Healthcare. Health care companies are teaming up with the tech industry to develop more personalized products. "Dexcom makes a continuous glucose monitor and we're partnering with them in a program around some of our senior population where we're using some of their great technology with the continuous glucose monitor along with the data that we have at United Health Care and working to help our members have better information about their daily glucose levels and their ability to manage their Type-2 diabetes," says Marc Briggs from United Healthcare. Jill Gilbert, Digital Health Industry Expert says: "I call it hyper-personalization of health care and, or medicine. There are meaningful developments that are coming out of this industry. There are also some fun gadgets and some fun things that help us stay on track." Experts predict combining the latest tech with artificial intelligence will help a host of people and patients, from babies to seniors. 15 Accidental Inventions You Can't Imagine Your Life Without
Some of the greatest inventions we use every day were created by accident. From the microwave to ice-cream cones, the accidental inventions on this list completely changed our way of life. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. But every now and then, it’s for the better! American chemist Roy J. Plunkett was doing research for the company Dupont to make fridges safer and invented a strange substance that was non-reactive, non-stick, and resistant to extreme temperatures. We all know it as Teflon. John Pemberton was a pharmacist trying to find a way to get rid of headaches. He came up with a simple recipe consisting of two ingredients: coca leaves and cola nuts combined into a syrup. It was later mixed with soda by accident and became a huge hit. Dr. Spencer Silver, a chemist for 3M Company, was trying to create a super strong adhesive but what he got instead was a “low-tack” yet high-quality adhesive only strong enough to hold up a piece of paper but durable enough to be relocated multiple times without losing its stick. We all know and love it as Post-it notes today. The first antidepressant was discovered in 1957 and was supposed to be a cure for tuberculosis. Wilhelm Roentgen unintentionally put his hand in front of an electron-beam tube back in 1895 and noticed that the radiation passed through solid objects and body parts leaving a shadow. And now we have x-ray imaging! TIMESTAMPS Matches 0:41 Teflon 1:33 Potato chips 2:25 Ice-cream cones 3:16 Coca Cola 4:03 Post-It notes 4:37 Safety glass 5:26 Vulcanized rubber 5:57 Plastic 6:50 Antidepressants 7:34 Implantable pacemaker 8:00 Antibiotics 8:28 X-rays 9:09 Superglue 9:42 Microwave oven 10:20 SUMMARY -British pharmacist John Walker noticed that one of the sticks he used to mix the chemicals had some substance on it that caught fire easily. -American chemist Roy J. Plunkett was trying to make fridges safer and accidentally created non-reactive, non-stick substance resistant to extreme temperatures. -New York chef George Crum decided to change the way he cooked potatoes to avoid customer complaints. -The ice cream booth at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis was running out of bowls and tried using waffles instead of them. -Pharmacist John Pemberton was trying to find a way to get rid of headaches and invented the syrup of coca leaves and cola nuts. -3M Company chemist failed to create a super strong adhesive but gave the world the famous sticky papers. -French chemist Édouard Bénédictus noticed that the beaker that didn’t shatter after falling off his desk had had a thin film of liquid plastic in it. -Charles Goodyear mixed rubber with sulfur and accidentally dropped it on a hot surface – that’s how vulcanized rubber was invented. -Plastic was accidentally created in search for a cheaper alternative for shellac but became something way more useful. -The first antidepressant was discovered in 1957 and was supposed to be a cure for tuberculosis. -Wilson Greatbatch added the wrong electronic component to what was supposed to be heartbeat recording gadget and created the pacemaker. -Scottish scientist Alexander Flemming noticed that mold killed the bacteria in a dish in his messy laboratory and saved a great number of lives with his invention of penicillin. -Wilhelm Roentgen unintentionally put his hand in front of an electron-beam tube back in 1895 … and invented x-ray imaging. -In 1942, Kodak researcher Harry Coover was working on transparent plastic for gun sights when he accidentally created an extremely adhesive substance that stuck to just about anything. -Navy radar specialist Percy Spencer noticed that the bar of chocolate in his pocket melted near a microwave-emitting magnetron. And this is how the microwave oven was invented in 1945! One of our most innovative, popular thinkers takes on-in exhilarating style-one of our key questions: Where do good ideas come from? With Where Good Ideas Come From, Steven Johnson pairs the insight of his bestselling Everything Bad Is Good for You and the dazzling erudition of The Ghost Map and The Invention of Air to address an urgent and universal question: What sparks the flash of brilliance? How does groundbreaking innovation happen? Answering in his infectious, culturally omnivorous style, using his fluency in fields from neurobiology to popular culture, Johnson provides the complete, exciting, and encouraging story of how we generate the ideas that push our careers, our lives, our society, and our culture forward. Beginning with Charles Darwin's first encounter with the teeming ecosystem of the coral reef and drawing connections to the intellectual hyperproductivity of modern megacities and to the instant success of YouTube, Johnson shows us that the question we need to ask is, What kind of environment fosters the development of good ideas? His answers are never less than revelatory, convincing, and inspiring as Johnson identifies the seven key principles to the genesis of such ideas, and traces them across time and disciplines. Most exhilarating is Johnson's conclusion that with today's tools and environment, radical innovation is extraordinarily accessible to those who know how to cultivate it. Where Good Ideas Come From is essential reading for anyone who wants to know how to come up with tomorrow's great ideas.
