Oracle X$TRACE, Wait Event Internals and Background Process Communication

01:48:41
In this session we will look into some internals of Oracle background process communication and also some special types of wait events that most people aren’t aware of. We will use some exotic tracing for internals research and fun and some of this stuff is actually useful in real life too! I’m not going to reveal everything upfront, as this is a secret internals hacking session after all ;-) We will use various techniques to research what the “reliable message” wait event is about and how reliable background process communication is orchestrated in Oracle. This is a hacking session, not formal structured training, so I’ll just do free form demos and talk (probably no slides, just hacking stuff on the command line). Also, check out my full-week Advanced Oracle Troubleshooting online training at https://blog.tanelpoder.com/seminar

Oracle Stream Explorer and Event Processor - Detect missing event

08:07
This video accompanies the blog article https://technology.amis.nl/2015/04/08/use-oracle-stream-explorer-and-the-service-execution-reporter-policy-to-analyze-service-behavior-find-too-late-closing-flights-on-saibot-airport/ that describes how using the Service Execution Reporting policy – and the bridge created from the reporter through JMS to Stream Explorer we can create a business monitor. The reports on service executions can be interpreted in a functional way to produce business insight. In this video we will specifically monitor airplanes at the gate – an example inspired by the Saibot Airport case in the Oracle SOA Suite 12c Handbook. Clearly, the time at the gate should be minimized. We will keep an eye on planes that remain at the gate for too long.

Oracle IoT Fleet Monitoring Overview by Srini Rajagopal (Oracle)

32:08
Presentation by Srini Rajagopal during the OTM User Conference Europe in Amsterdam on 23 March 2018. In today’s world of intelligent and connected devices, people have an expectation of being able to track things in real-time. Whether you want to know the location of your Uber or Lyft driver, the pizza you just ordered, or simply make sure your kids are where they are supposed to be, all of this information is available at your fingertips and usually within seconds. Why should freight be any different? Oracle IoT Fleet Monitoring Cloud and Oracle Transportation Management Cloud make real-time shipment tracking a reality. Learn how this preconfigured solution eliminates the need for phone calls, emails, and other manual tasks, and pushes real-time shipment tracking information to you and your customers, saving you time, money, and improving customer service. Srini Rajagopal is Senior Director, Logistics Product Strategy at Oracle. He has responsibility for the team that leads the strategy for Oracle Transportation Management and Global Trade Management. JMX: Much More Than Just Application Monitoring

55:43
You have probably heard of Java Management Extensions (JMX) as the enabling technology behind JVM profiling tools such as JConsole and VisualVM that are part of JDK 6 and later. But did you know that using JMX, part of the Java SE platform, is a lightweight way to manage any resource (such as hardware, networks, storage, operating systems, middleware, and applications)? In this session, you will learn about • The JMX architecture • Managing a resource in JMX, with a code example • JMX notifications • JMX connectors (RMI for remote clients and WS-Man for Web services clients) • Protocol adapters (HTML and SNMP) • JConsole and VisualVM, the "out of the box" JMX clients for JVM monitoring • Practical applications of JMX in the real world • JMX-enabled Java products" Copyright © 2013 Oracle and/or its affiliates. Oracle Enterprise Manager: Integration with 3rd Party Systems

18:26
Enterprise Manager has a number of management connectors to integrate with popular 3rd party management systems. The management connectors leverage EM’s connector framework in order to forward event and incident details to 3rd party systems. Besides the management connectors, Enterprise Manager also has a number of Advanced Notification Methods when the use case is more complicated or when there is no management connector available. Enterprise Manager is highly extensible and provides a Connector Framework API which leverages web service calls to create and update events or tickets in 3rd party systems. We provide a Connectors Integration Guide with instructions and examples to build your own connector. See Enterprise manager online documentation for more information: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E73210_01/nav/connectors.htm http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E73210_01/EMADM/GUID-B48F6A84-EE89-498D-94E0-5DE1E7A0CFBC.htm#EMADM9066 http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E73210_01/EMCIG/GUID-FBA700A1-B2F0-4A7B-980C-E4816A21FAD4.htm#EMCIG169 Copyright © 2017 Oracle and/or its affiliates. Oracle End to End Metrics

01:28:16
Webinar broadcast by Red Gate on 29 May 2013: www.red-gate.com/oracle-webinars End-to-end metrics bridge the gap between the developer and the DBA, the Developer and Oracle, and the DBA and the application. Most applications today are n-tiers using a connection pool on the application tier, which makes them very hard to trace. With a little bit of collaboration between developers and DBAs, tracing can be turned on very easily for your specific application module, a specific user, IP-address, customer, or any other metric of your choice. End-to-end metrics can also be helpful in your development process, and in the day-to-day monitoring of your application. For our complete archive please go to http://www.red-gate.com/oracle-webinars
