10 Little-Known Tricks for Perfect Sleep on a Flight
How to sleep easily on a plane? People who can easily fall asleep on a plane are among the lucky few because most of us aren’t able to doze off in a cramped space, sitting in such an uncomfortable position and surrounded by total strangers. What if we told you there are some simple tricks that can help you catch some Z’s on board? Who knew that flying on a Tuesday or keeping your seat belt fastened could actually make a difference? TIMESTAMPS Night is the best time for a flight 0:34 The best days to fly are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 1:27 The perfect seat is by the window 2:16 Tilt your seat back to the max 3:17 Clothes should be warm and comfortable 3:58 Fasten your seat belt over your clothes 4:43 Get yourself some sleeping accessories 5:25 Control the scents around you 6:05 Put your gadgets away 6:59 Food and drinks 7:34 SUMMARY - It’s great if you can pick a flight for the time you usually sleep at. Wake up 2-3 hours earlier on the day of your flight to help you fall asleep faster on board later on. - If you want fewer passengers and more space, pick the most unpopular days for booking flights: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as a rule. You might even get up to 3 seats to yourself! - Always try to pick a window seat to rest your head on the wall and not be bothered by your neighbor wanting to get up to go to the bathroom. If you normally sleep on your left side, aim for seat A. If your right side is your preferred sleeping position, pick the window seat on the opposite side of the plane. - If you want good quality sleep in the cabin, adjust your seat as far back as it’ll go. Just make sure the person behind you doesn’t mind. - To have a sound nap onboard, you should wear loose clothes made of natural materials that don’t constrict your movements. If your airline doesn’t provide blankets, take a jacket and warm socks too. - A seat belt fastened over your clothes or blanket won’t make your sleep more comfortable, but it will prevent flight attendants from waking you up if the plane experiences turbulence. - Light and noise are the main culprits that keep you from getting needed shuteye. So this answer might be obvious: use a sleeping mask and earplugs! - You can control the scents in your immediate surrounding. Just sprinkle the head rest or your travel pillow with some lavender oil or any other essential oil you like. - Don’t watch movies on your phone, tablet, or laptop because the blue light of the screen wakes your brain up. Most sleep experts say you should put away all your electronics at least half an hour, or, better yet, an hour before you plan on dozing off. - If you want to be fast asleep, don’t overeat onboard. The food should be light and healthy, while the best drink option is tea (the herbal variety is perfect) or just plain water. Have your own tricks to share? Also getting early to the airport increases the chance of a possibility for upgrades or you are more likely to get emergency exit seat. Bonus advantage: you can travel hassle free. Look up the terminal your flight is leaving from to ensure a smooth and stress free arrival at the airport. We made the experience that not every Uber or Taxi driver is familiar with the airport and it’s terminals. Make yourself familiar with the general layout of the airport and research food, coffee and drink spots. You can usually find these on the airports website. To avoid bad quality we usually read up on reviews on Google Maps, Trip Advisor or Yelp. Every airline has different check in and boarding times - look it up on the airlines website and once you arrived at the airport, keep an eye open on the screens as changes (gate, delay etc.) can occur. 5. Things to bring on a plane There are a few things that we have in our backpack which make flying so much more enjoyable: 6. How to pack a suit case and how to pack a carry on try to travel with carry on only. this might sound ridiculous but we realized especially this year during our 2-month-south-east-asia trip that we packed way to much. keep it simple and pack smart. carry on is usually one personal item and one cabin bag - but make sure to check with your airline first. for us it’s usually a backpack and a small suitcase. one of the travel hacks I learned when it comes to how to pack like a pro is roll your clothes to fit more in one of my travel essentials are comfortable travel clothes in our backback. this helps if luggage is lost when packing always keep in mind to have the items you need to take out or you need most, should be easily accessible. Do your check in advance online most airlines offer online check in which can safe a lot of time. We usually put our tickets either in the „wallet app“ on our iphone or you can also download the airline app and have your ticket on your phone. good points: you will have it with you. 8.Security to ensure a smooth procedure at the security follow these steps: make yourself familiar with the items you can take in your backback and things you can’t in advance (water bottle, fluid restrictions etc.) pack smart. keep in mind you have to take out things like laptops, cameras out of your handluggage. place them in your bag where it’s the most comfortable to take them out and pack back again. dress smart. we have been through so many security controls and it still amazes me how much inconvenient items people wear. wear shoes which allow you to take them off and put them on easily as some securities ask you to take off your shoes. avoid (to many layers) of jackets. If possible, avoid belts. we are usually avoiding additionally accessory items like hats, watches, jewelery and scarfs as it can add up and stress you out at the security. put your items in the boxes in an order which allows you to keep distance between your valuables and other passengers or in best case stow them in your bag (for example your, passport, wallet etc.). make sure you are able to keep your items in sight. thieves are everywhere and crime happens also on airports. bonus tip: as a matter of fact you have to make sure your electronic devices are charged. it might happen you get asked to turn on your devices and you don’t want to have trouble at the secondary security, do you? 10 Things NOT to Do in Serbia
Get more Tips here! http://www.destinationtips.com If you just so happen to have a trip to Serbia on your travel itinerary, we have all the info you’ll ever need to make your vacation enjoyable. Here’s a list of 10 Things Not To Do in this Balkan nation. 1. Don't forget all the possibilities If you’re looking for warm summers, go to the northern part, such Vojvodina. If you’re looking for some snowfall look no further than the mountainous region of Zlatibor. And, for year-round pleasant weather, you can’t beat the capital of Belgrade’s humid subtropical climate. 2. Don't forget to Make a Toast Serbs are big on looking each other directly in the eye while proclaiming, ‘živeli!’ (cheers!) before chugging their alcoholic beverage of choice. Make sure you raise your glass and clink it with the locals. 3. Don’t Mention Politics or Wars Serbia has a harrowing history full of political conflict and devastating wars, so try your best to avoid this subject at all costs. Many of the people you’ll encounter likely lived through several conflicts,so be sensitive to their history that’s still fresh on their minds. 4. Don't leave without hiking to Golubac Home to a stunning fortress that’s perched atop a rock overlooking the Danube river. Most of the fort that sits higher up on the hill is inaccessible, but the views from below are well worth the trip to this tourist attraction in the Branicevo District. 5. Don’t Sit on the Corner of a Table The Serbs are big on superstitions, and they take them seriously. They believe sitting on the corner will bring you bad luck, and you run the risk of being alone forever. Do you really want to run the risk of flying solo solo for the rest of your life? 6. Don’t Expect to Eat Vegetarian Dishes Balkan cuisine is some of the most savory food you’ll ever eat, and veggie lovers will be able to find vegetables here and there. However, the majority of this region’s most popular dishes are chock-full of meat and potatoes. 7. Don't leave without Partying Every July, the stages are full of some of the hottest musicians from across the globe, and also Belgrade’s nightlife is still quite impressive, the streets are lined with bars with welcoming staff that will serve you an ice cold Jelen beer with a smile. 8. Don’t Mention Kosovo We’ve already mentioned how bringing up the wars is a big no-no, but you should also refrain from mentioning Kosovo and the 1989 war, as well. Unless you want to get into an intense debate about Balkan history and Kosovo’s past, don’t bother touching this topic if you can avoid it. 9. Don’t Photograph the Ruins Aside from the beautiful architectural designs you’ll encounter, you’ll also see many decimated structures throughout the country which are remnants from the past turmoil Serbia has experienced. Be sensitive and hold off on taking that selfie in front of the ruins. 10. Don’t Hail a Cab There are many crooks that will pretend to be legitimate drivers who will take you on a ride you’ll never forget. Make sure it has clear signage and is operated by a registered company. Then, get ready to explore one of the most fascinating and historical countries in Europe! 10 Things NOT to Do in Israel
Get more Tips here! http://www.destinationtips.com There’s no shortage of amazing things to do in this quaint country. You probably have your itinerary mapped out. But if you really want to make your stay enjoyable, you can’t ignore this 10 things NOT to do when visiting this sacred country. 1. Don’t Smoke on Saturday Israel has been constructing its anti-smoking ban, so visitors should adhere to no-smoking signs and refrain from lighting up on Shabbat. If you must smoke, do it in private and far away from an Orthodox Jew who may find your smoking habit offensive. 2. Don’t Eat Without Tipping In Israel, the waitstaff at restaurants and cafés don’t receive a salary, so they solely rely on the tips from generous patrons. Most customers don’t leave without plopping down at least a 10% tip before heading for the exit. 3. Don’t Skip the Flea Market in Jaffa Located in the southernmost part of Tel Aviv, the port city of Jaffa has biblical and mythological roots. The flea market opens six days a week, and vendors sell everything, from antiques to handmade items. Don't miss these picturesque streets 4. Don’t Forget Orthodox Jewish Laws Orthodox Jews follow strict religious and social laws such as Negiah (restricting physical contact between those of the opposite sex). They will keep a healthy distance between you if you’re of the opposite gender to avoid accidental contact. 5. Don’t Shave Before Entering the Dead Sea This Sea is loaded with mineral-rich mud and high salt content, relieving certain skin issues, from acne to eczema and psoriasis. But don't shave or wax your body for at least 2 to 3 days prior. The salt content will wreak havoc on the sensitive areas, leaving you with a burning, tingling feeling. Ouch. 6. Don’t Expect to Eat a Light Breakfast It’s customary to enjoy a really heavy breakfast, whether you’re in a tiny café or one of the country’s many restaurants. On the menu, you’ll typically find pastries, bread, salads, eggs, meat, fruits, juice, coffee, and tea. And by the time you finish your spread, it will be time for lunch! 7. Don’t Ignore the Memorial Day Siren If you happen to visit on April 17-18 for Yom Hazikaron (Memorial Day), or on April 11-12 for Holocaust Remembrance Day, you’ll hear sirens ring throughout the country. When it stops, each person must stand up straight, and pay respect to those who’ve lost their lives. So, please, don’t ignore the sound. 8. Don’t Forget to Head Out to the Desert The Negev – also known as the desert region of Israel – is loaded with natural wonders. Timna Park is home to acacia trees, herds of wild ibex, a souvenir shop, and overnight campgrounds. If you want to take a break, a desert excursion is just what the doctor ordered. 9. Don’t Be Afraid to Haggle Israel is full of different bazaars and markets. In Old City of Jerusalem, prices are typically marked up, but don’t be afraid to haggle. Most sellers expect shoppers to bargain with them, especially tourists from Western countries. 10. Don’t forget to visit the Sea of Galilee If you’re the type of tourist who loves staying active even when you’re away from home, this Middle Eastern country was made for you. The Sea of Galilee is full of attractions, including the hot pools near Tiberias, hiking trails, and swimming in the freshwater lake. Where do you want to know what not to do in next? Comment Below!

I can't imagine not traveling the world. http://rawontheroad.org https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1586VI7MnY A life without adventures in new cities, countries and continents around the world. https://www.instagram.com/rawontheroad/ A life without trying new things every day. It just doesn't seem right to me anymore. It is fascinating how your life and priorities change when you travel around the world. http://facebook.com/worldthetravel My life was completely different 3 years ago when we started this journey in 2012. I was different. I was more interested in making money than traveling. I never knew that travel would make me so happy with my life. That it would change everything about me. Over the past 3 years we had so many incredible adventures around the world, made lifelong friends and countless unforgettable memories. People often ask us: "I want to travel the world. How can I make it happen?" It is simple: depending on your budget, you can either find a travel agency that will plan you entire trip - in that case it will probably be quite difficult for you to have an authentic experience and soak up the culture of the place you are traveling to. You will often only get to see the top tourist spots, and will have to pay a fortune for your trip. Or you can meet awesome locals that will open their homes and share their lives with you. How can you do it? Easy. There are some great travel sites that can make your travel experience truly unique and enjoyable and help you travel the world for free. Many travel sites will also give you a good idea about what places you shouldn’t miss, but you will have to plan the rest of your trip yourself. IELTS Speaking Part 2 Band 9 Sample Answer - Describe a Journey

Together with my family, I went to the Grand Canyon, which is a popular tourist attraction. It’s a national park in the United States. And I know we traveled by car. Umm, I can’t remember how long the trip was but I’d guess it was about a week. And the reason we went on this trip? Well, it was probably because my parents wanted to take me for a nice trip, a nice family trip. That’s a common thing to do, um, with some families. But the reason I remember this journey so well is not because the Grand Canyon was amazing. I’m sure it was. But there was something else that happened while I was on this journey. And that was…on the trip…on our way to the Grand Canyon, um, we stopped by a book store. And, you know, I liked reading books a little bit when I was a kid so um, my I think my mom recommended this particular book to me. And I don’t remember what it was right now but we bought the book because she said “Oh this is a good idea. You might want to read this book.” And so, she gave it to me and in the car, probably for about four hours or five hours, instead of looking out at all of the scenery and at all of these new places we were driving to, I just had my head in my book. I don’t think I looked up at all and I just read the book from cover to cover for like four or five hours…just sitting in the car in the back seat instead of looking at whatever beautiful nature they wanted me to look at. I know they gave me a little bit of a hard time about it, but, hey, you know, um, it was a memorable journey for sure (be)cause even to this day I still remember reading that book in the car and really enjoying it and having a really good time with it. So yeah, that’s my story.

Responsible Travel: What is Trip For A Trip?
We give 1% of our sales to our Trip for a Trip scheme. Responsible Travel believe travel can open up horizons, broaden perspectives and ultimately be an unforgettably enjoyable experience. We’ve taken children who live close to Angkor Wat, Cambodia - but have never visited - on a guided tour. Other children who live locally to game parks or the sea may never have seen wildlife or the ocean...some children are missing out on the beauty and heritage of their own environment, yet tourists from all corners of the planet are able to come and visit. We believe in one for one – for every trip you go on via Responsible Travel, a child also benefits from a day trip. Uzbekistan: a travel documentary
After visiting Mongolia last Summer, we decided to explore a little further the Silk Road and picked Uzbekistan as our next destination. We didn't really know what to expect: different sources gave us different opinions and we were unsure of what it would have been like. We found a country full of architectural beauty, a lot of tradition, amazing food and colours. Still quite genuine, tourism hasn't spoiled it that much yet ... unfortunately looked like only big groups of people in their 50s/60s are willing to travel to this country. It is affordable and it is suitable for both solo travellers, women, families and, of course, groups of any age. Tashkent: it's the capital city and one of the largest cities in Central Asia. Worth a quick stop but don't spend too much time. The gardens and parks around the presidential buildings are very enjoyable and well maintained. Near the Chorsu Bazaar is the best part of town both because of the few remaining historical buildings are around, as well as for the market itself. Samarkand: do not underestimate the distance here if you are on foot. It's truly impressive to stand in front of the Registan and look at the magnificent madrasas. It's indeed one of the most impressive square in the World. But even more impressive and fascinating is the Shah-I-Zinda mausoleum. The Bibi Khanyum Mosque is the third landmark and can't be missed. Two other documents are less appealing (unless you are an archeologist or an historian) but are still worth a visit: the Afrosiab ruins and the Ulug Beg observatory. Samarkand's history starts probably 3 millennia ago. The old Marqand was conquered by Alexander the Great. The it flourished as one of the major trading points along the Silk Road under the Sogdians and the Persians. When the arabs came in the region, it continue flourishing and its grandeur survived also the Mongol invasion. Infact, not long thereafter, it was the capital of the Timurid Empire that dominated Central Asia from Turkey to India at the end of the 14th century Bukhara: different from Samarkand, Bukhara landmarks are less impressive but the entire historical center has been kept almost intact. People still live in the old town and enjoy the evening at the Lyabi Hauz. Bukhara will also give you a taste not only of the Silk Road, but also of the Great Game. The Ark fortress has impressive walls, but the madrasas here are the most interest. Our favourite has been the Abdullah Khan Madrasa. Khiva: the old citadel of Khiva (the so-called Ichon Qala) is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. So many monuments are packed within it walls: 2 royal palace, 3 minarets and several mosques and madrasas. Khiva may see a museum for tourists during the day, but in reality has its own soul. You can feel it early morning of after sunset, before the tourists hit the road or by the weddings that took place every day on its streets. PRACTICAL INFO: Itinerary: we spent 10 days: 1 day in Tashkent, 2 days in Samarkand, 1.5 in Bukhara, 1.5 day in the Khorzem, 3 in Khiva and 1 day to come back to Tashkent. It gives you ample time. Ex-post, we only made an error to dedicate only one and half day to Bukhara as we were unable to see the monuments in the countryside Flights: direct flights from London with Uzbekistan Airways. 7 hours for £400 with no flight entertainment Transport: train is perfect. We had a travel agency (Salom Travel) booking for us the tickets in advance and delivering to our hotel in Tashkent. In addition, you need a tour or a driver to visit the Khorzem fortresses. We also relied on the same agency. We highly recommend Salom Travel Food: amazing food for max $5 per person. We ate a lot at the kiosks in the various bazaar for much less than that. Everything is very tasteful, not only the meat, but also the vegs, the dumplings and the local spaghetti (nothing to do with Chinese noodles) Safety: super safe Locals: extremely friendly. Especially the younger, they will try to exchange a word or two in English. Uzbekistan is very isolated and not many foreigners are around. As result locals have not been westernized. E.g. all women still wear traditional dresses and you won't hear Justin Bibier around but rather Russian songs or Uzber traditional music. Some taxi drivers and ticket officers will try to squeeze a couple of dollars out of you but nothing that will bore you too much

If you want to experience a Canadian city with a bit of French flair, then you need to visit Quebec City. Situated on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, this is a town with good looks and a big heart. We only had a day and a half there, but that was enough time to wander the cobbled streets, catch some street performances, and visit many of the top attractions. The following is a little video of our time in historic Quebec City, Canada highlighting the top 10 things to do and see in this top attractions travel guide: GEAR WE USE Olympus OM-D E-M5 II: http://amzn.to/1OchS7t Canon G7X: http://amzn.to/1YdjsYX Olympus 14-150mm II Lens: http://amzn.to/1Y79zeM Rode Video Mic GO: http://amzn.to/1WDKtVM Joby Gorilla Pod: http://amzn.to/1PgoY5F SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro: http://amzn.to/25KEErs SOCIAL MEDIA & TRAVEL BLOGS AUDREY: blog: http://thatbackpacker.com/ instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thatbackpacker/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thatbackpacker twitter: https://twitter.com/ThatBackpacker SAMUEL: blog: http://nomadicsamuel.com/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nomadicsamuel twitter: https://twitter.com/NomadicSamuel instragram: https://www.instagram.com/nomadicsamuel/ 1) Plains of Abraham We are no standing on the Plains of Abraham and this is the location where the battle between the English and the French was fought. This was the battle that ultimately determined the fate of North America. This battle was part of the Seven Years' War and it would be the deciding factor over the fate of New France, influencing the later creation of Canada. 2) Citadelle We just finished visiting the Citadelle and if you get the chance I would suggest you try to be here by ten in the morning. That is when they have the changing of the guard ceremony and it is a lot of fun to watch. They even have a pet goat that takes part so it really is a lot of fun. The Citadelle is the largest British fortress in North America. 3) Chateau Frontenac Now we're visiting Chateau Frontenac, one of the most famous hotels in all of Canada. It is a stunner. It is just absolutely beautiful. We're trying to capture it from different vantage points. The hotel was designed by American architect Bruce Price. It was one of many "château" style hotels built for the Canadian Pacific Railway company with the goal of promoting luxury tourism. Today, a night at the Frontenac starts at $379 dollars. 4) Terrasse Dufferin This boardwalk that we are currently standing on is called Terrasse Dufferin and it is a great place for a stroll. You can catch some street performers, eat some ice cream and you also get some great views of the river below. The promenade sits right outside the Chateau Frontenac and it is 425 meters in length. You can also catch a funicular nearby which takes you to the Old Lower Town. 5) Quartier Petit Champlain Petit Champlain is a neighbourhood located in the Old Lower Town. It is quite picturesque, especially when viewed from the Breakneck Stairs. The narrow cobbled streets are lined with small shops and cafes. It's a really fun neighbourhood to explore with a camera in hand. 6) Basilica Notre Dame de Quebec The Basilica Notre Dame de Quebec is the oldest church in the Americas north of Mexico. If you want to get a sneak peek at the crypt, you'll have to sign up for a guided tour. 7) Rue St. Paul We're now walking along Rue St. Paul and this is a great place to browse for antiques and you can buy some souvenirs. Just don't leave your visit to the end of the day because you may find that a lot of the shops have closed. 8) Museum of Civilization The Museum of Civilization is a great place to learn about the Aboriginal peoples of Quebec. 9) Port of Quebec We're here now in the Port Area. This is a great place to take a ferry. A lot of people come here to exercise, to fish and just to enjoy the views of the St. Lawrence river. It is a really relaxing place. The Port of Quebec is the oldest in all of Canada and it played an important role in developing the region. Today you'll find that cruises have replaced much of the former freight traffic. 10) Catch a Street Performance And lastly, you can't come to Quebec City and not catch a street performance! The city celebrates its performers and you'll often find acts taking place in the town square and parks. Grab a seat for some live entertainment and don't forget to leave a tip at the end! And that concludes our brief but very enjoyable trip to Quebec City! We hope that you enjoyed this video and that it will help inspire your Canadian travels. Learn all the vocabulary and expressions you need here, so you don't need to worry about your English next time you're on vacation or a business trip. All in all, I designed this video to make sure your next stay in a hotel will be an enjoyable one. TAKE THE QUIZ: https://www.engvid.com/english-for-staying-at-a-hotel/ TRANSCRIPT Hi. Welcome to engVid. I'm Adam. In today's video I'm going to walk you through your stay at a hotel in an English-speaking country. You need to know some vocabulary, you need to know some of the staff you're going to be dealing with, some of the services and amenities, and all of that stuff. So it's a lot of vocabulary, but a lot of things that you probably need to know before you get to the hotel. So, the first thing we're going to look at is the staff. Who works at a hotel? So, first of all, in some of the more fancy hotels, the more up... High-scale hotels, you're going to have a "doorman". He or she, mostly he, will open and close the door for you, that's why: doorman. Very... Now, I know you're not supposed to say "man", you're supposed to say "doorperson", but in hotels I don't think anybody really cares; we still say "doorman" because mostly it's a man working there. Now, if you drove there, there might be a "valet". A "valet" is a person who will take your car and park it for you. You give him or her the keys, they drive away, park your car. When you're ready to leave, they bring your car to the front of the hotel, you get in, drive off. There's also the "housekeeping" or the "maid". You can call it either one. "Housekeeping" is the same thing as "maid". These days "housekeeping" is a little bit more common than "maid", but they clean your room, bring you fresh towels, etc. The "porter". The porter will probably be standing outside in front of the hotel. When you pull up in your taxi or your car, he will come, take your bags inside to the front desk. And this person is also like a little bit of a man Friday we call it. He will run around and get things done for you if you need. If you need tickets, he'll go pick them up. If you need some chores run, he'll take your coat to the laundry, all these things. So basically he's a person who runs around doing tasks for the guests. Okay? A "bellhop" will take your luggage from the reception to your room. So you don't have to carry your own bags; that's what the bellhop does. Takes your bags, when you're ready to leave he will come to your room, take your bags downstairs for you. The "concierge". So, the concierge is the person who works in a hotel, and this is the person you go to if you need to arrange outings outside the hotel. If you want a restaurant reservation, if you want tickets to the theatre, sports games, anything you want to do outside the hotel, this person will probably help you organize these things, like tours, he or she or the area will have brochures and information about all the sites in the area, all the tourist attractions, etc. So, "concierge". The "g" sounds like the "s" in "measure". Okay? It's a bit of a French sound. Basically it's customer service. And again, in high-scale hotels, they do a bit more services for you, but most hotels have a concierge. Now, when you walk into the hotel you will go to the "front desk" or you will go to the "reception" or you will go to the "check-in desk", all the same thing. All of them are located in the lobby of the hotel. So the entrance, the main area of the front of the hotel, you just go to the front desk, you check in. You go to the check-in desk, you go to the reception, all the same thing. Now, if you're in your room and you don't want the maid to come and clean up, don't forget to put that "Do Not Disturb" tag on your door. Okay? We call this a tag. It's a piece of paper, you put it outside your door, housekeeping will not disturb you. They will not knock on your door. Now, basically hotel has "rooms" and "suites". What is the difference? Name only. Most hotels like to call their rooms suites, but if you want to get a little bit more technical, a suite should be bigger. Many suites have a kitchenette. A kitchenette is like a half kitchen. It's not a full-size kitchen, it's not fully equipped. Probably no big stove or dishwasher, things like that, but enough that you can make small meals, snacks, etc.
#Nomad #Adventure in #Somaliland - The #Berbera Road Trip
Video taken back in 2017 when I was on a business trip to Somaliland In this road trip I was also accompanied by other business minded individuals. This made the trip enjoyable as it provided banter as the radio wasn't working plus we got to share some ideas. One thing everyone must do is visit Berbera or as I call it the Future Dubai of Somaliland The road trip takes roughly 2 hrs if you drive legally and care for your car. However some people have claimed it takes them an hour and half. But these guys drive over 140km and don't care for all the dangerous potholes. Unfortunately this is why we have some dangerous road accidents due to this kind of crazy drivers. Saying that, the road is much better than back in the days (post 97) when it would take over 3 hrs due to the atrocious road conditions.

Why Would A Bodyboarder Visit Nusa Lembongan? - Bodyboard-School
In order to travel to Nusa Lembongan you fly in to Denpasar airport in Bali and then travel by boat from Sanur. It’s an enjoyable journey and seeing the huge wave filled bay and docking on a white sand beach is a great way to start a trip. From there you will settle in to your accommodation, which is on the beachfront. Expect good quality individual bungalows an infinity pool, sea front bar/restaurant and a very welcoming staff team. Each time you go bodyboarding you will be picked up from in front of the accommodation by our own captain who offers us a water taxi to which ever wave is the best for that session. You get dropped off at the line up and surf your brains out before being picked up again. If the swell is small there are wave magnets that seem to never go flat. When the swell is big we seek shelter in the protected bays. There are a number of undiscovered spots that we have named and always enjoy empty line-ups at those locations. When you explore the island you will be surprised by how welcoming and friendly the locals are. They live a simple life and are always interested to engage in friendly chatter. The local children will wave as you drive past them. The lush jungle, white sand and translucent blue waters of the ocean make for breath taking views so we arrange a number of treks and excursions for our groups to embrace not only Nusa Lembongan but the neighbouring islands. A highlight of any trip is snorkeling with the Manta Rays. These huge, inquisitive beasts will swim close to you with a motion like a swooping bird. You will never forget the first time that one swims near to you; it’s a jaw dropping moment of exhilaration, fear and adrenaline. To see these creatures in the wild is worth the trip alone. The island has some lovely secret beaches; there is a cool mangrove tour and historical temples to visit. If you have bodyboarded enough for one day there is plenty of other things to do. With a wide variety of beachfront restaurants dotted along the coast there is food to suit all budgets. Enjoy traditional Indonesian dishes, western food, excellent vegan restaurants and the freshest fish dishes in the world. Nusa Lembongan should be on every bodyboarders bucket list! If you fancy joining us on this trip please visit Bodyboard Holidays; https://bodyboard-holidays.com/destinations/asia/nusa-lembongan/ For further tips, sign up for our newsletter here; http://eepurl.com/bfx1Jz Or if you want to learn to bodyboard check out our Bodyboard School; https://bodyboard-school.com

7 Things I Should Have Known Traveling Norway
Before our trip to Norway, I asked my mother "So why Norway? We haven't even been to the UK!" The response was "Because it's very safe." I guess I had no other options but to go along with her plans. After all, she paid for my tickets, hotel, and food. What I regret was underestimating the Norwegian weather of its rain and gray sky. Though it was the first time, I genuinely felt that the gloomy weather made this trip so much more memorable and enjoyable. I simply loved walking in the drizzling rain and breathing in the cold fresh air. Traveling Norway should be a refreshing and relaxing experience. Everything you see in this Scandinavian country will humble you so just let nature do its work. Immersive Trip Reports
Immersive Trip Reports Jan Brejcha, Michal Lukác, Zhili Chen, Stephen DiVerdi, Martin Cadík UIST '18: ACM User Interface Software and Technology Symposium Session: Authoring, Reading and Writing Abstract Since the advent of consumer photography, tourists and hikers have made photo records of their trips to share later. Aside from being kept as memories, photo presentations such as slideshows are also shown to others who have not visited the location to try to convey the experience. However, a slideshow alone is limited in conveying the broader spatial context, and thus the feeling of presence in beautiful natural scenery is lost. We address this by presenting the photographs as part of an immersive experience. We introduce an automated pipeline for aligning photographs with a digital terrain model. From this geographic registration, we produce immersive presentations which are viewed either passively as a video, or interactively in virtual reality. Our experimental evaluation verifies that this new mode of presentation successfully conveys the spatial context of the scene and is enjoyable to users. Lucerne Excursions: Rigi, Bürgenstock, Pilatus, Switzerland
One of the great activities that you can enjoy while in Lucerne, Switzerland is cruise on Lake Lucerne and visit Mt. Rigi. You take the boat over to Weggis and go up the mountain to Rigi by cablecar. Please subscribe: http://bit.ly/2pmdyeu Switzerland playlist http://bit.ly/2qsUism At the top you can walk around and enjoy the views, then take a rack railway back down to Vitznau, finally catching the next boat for a return journey back to Lucerne. The other great mountain to visit near Lucerne is Pilatus, easily reached by boat and rail, and an enjoyable option to consider on your way to Pilatus is a stop at Bürgenstock. It's a small mountain plateau with a dramatic cliff-hugging walking trail. Most of the boats to Pilatus stop here en-route so hop off at the Bürgenstock dock, ride the funky old-fashioned funicular to the top and start hiking, following the signs to the cliff walk. This is a level path with sweeping views across the lake and at the rock face of the mountain, looking straight down about 1000 feet. You can have snacks or a meal at the restaurant other attractions on the plateau, which include more hiking trails through the forest, several newly-built deluxe hotels and a nine-hole golf course. From Bürgenstock continue by boat and rack rail ride to the top of Mount Pilatus. You take the boat to Alpnachstad, one hour and 10 minutes, and then you ride up the world's steepest cogwheel railway to the top of Pilatus for sweeping view of the lake. They do have a lovely rustic restaurant at the top and there's even a hotel up there that you could spend the night at. You can return back down the same way on the rack railway or for a slightly faster alternative with a totally different routing and some variety, take the cable car down the backside of the mountain to Lucerne. http://tourvideos.com/
