The Disney Cruise Line History
After a nearly decade long partnership with the Premier Cruise Line, Disney found themselves on their own in the cruise industry. They had tried to find new partnerships with Royal Caribbean and Carnival, but with both talks not going anywhere, Disney finally decided to just start their own cruise line, and so The Disney Cruise Line was born. They believed that their methodology to entertainment was unique, and that applying it to these new ventures allowed them to do it “the Disney way.” For reasons mentioned in the last video, which you should check out before watching this one, Disney simply couldn’t do that with cruises. But as their partnership options ran dry in 1994, Disney was in a much better financial situation compared to a decade prior when they first wanted to get into the industry. So they decided that it was finally time to do what they always did best, which was approach the venture “the Disney way.” Disney Cruise Vacations, as it was referred to at the time, was announced in May of 1994, but it would over four years before any ships would set sail. Disney decided that instead of buying second-hand ships which cruise lines would sometimes do to build a fleet, they would have two brand new ships built from scratch. Disney was prepared to pay four-hundred million dollars per ship, and they wanted to get off on the right foot so they hired industry veteran Arthur Rodney to lead the venture. The company would hire Italian shipbuilders Fincantieri to build the two ships while the design would be completed in Norway with the help of Walt Disney Imagineering... Disney's Cinderella Official US Trailer
Cinderella (2015) In-Home Release Date: September 15, 2015 On Blu-ray: http://di.sn/6004BHU1A, Digital HD & Disney Movies Anywhere: http://di.sn/6005BHUHP A new Frozen short, Frozen Fever, featuring all of your favorite characters and a brand new song, will play in theatres with Cinderella beginning March 13! The story of "Cinderella" follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella's father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Finally relegated to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes, and spitefully renamed Cinderella, Ella could easily begin to lose hope. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is determined to honor her mother's dying words and to "have courage and be kind." She will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her. And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the woods. Unaware that he is really a prince, not merely an apprentice at the Palace, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the Palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, raising Ella's hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit (Richard Madden). Alas, her stepmother forbids her to attend and callously rips apart her dress. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand, and a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham-Carter) steps forward and -- armed with a pumpkin and a few mice -- changes Cinderella's life forever. Would EPCOT Have Worked?
There are two Epcots. The Epcot most guests know is the theme park in Disney World with the “big silver golf ball” and people who like to drink around the world. The other Epcot, however, is the original EPCOT. The Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow. New here? Be sure to subscribe! 🔷https://goo.gl/x17zTL My Disney Podcast! 🎧http://ttapodcast.com Follow me on Twitter! 📱http://www.Twitter.com/RobPlays 🔷New video every week! It was Walt Disney’s plan for an actual functioning city of the future that would be the focal point of Disney World and an example for other cities around the world as to what city life could be like with proper planning and design. That second EPCOT never came to fruition because Walt Disney died before they even broke ground in Florida. His vision was essential to the plans for Epcot, and so without him the city would never happen. That, however, doesn’t stop fans from asking: would it have worked? Here’s my guess: Yes and no. Let me be more specific: The more I learn about Walt’s initial plans for EPCOT, the more I believe he would have been able to successfully build, open, and populate the city of EPCOT. However I also believe the city’s overall goal of acting as an example of a cutting edge city of the future for others to follow would have ultimately failed. EPCOT city would have been a massive undertaking for sure. The resources required to build EPCOT, which would have been multiple times larger than the Magic Kingdom might, itself, have been a roadblock preventing it from ever happening. However from a technology perspective, if you consider the details of EPCOT, there really wasn’t anything stopping them. All of it, on paper is nothing crazy. It would all be designed in a very specific way with one person overseeing it all, which was unique, but it was all within the realm of possibility. From a practical construction and technology standpoint, there were only two major complications with EPCOT city. The first was the fact that the proposed 50 acre shopping center surrounding the hotel was going to be completely enclosed and climate controlled. That said, while the costs of something as futuristic sounding as a climate controlled city center might have been a problem, it still could have been possible. The second road bump would have potentially been the city's various layers. In order to keep traffic flowing through EPCOT and in an attempt to keep the bulk of the city focused on the people mover and monorail, automotive traffic would be limited to two layers beneath the city. In theory Disney could have allowed the trucks to pass on the ground level, and cars to pass on the level above it. That would mean putting the rest of the city center on the third layer. If building a 50 acre enclosed shopping district wasn’t hard enough, doing it on top of two other layers would just be that much harder. Still though, while they would probably pose significant issues in building Epcot, they aren’t really non-starters. So where do I think EPCOT would have failed? I believe in it’s goal to not just serve as a model of the city of the future for others around the world, but to also remain a cutting edge city of the future over time. All of the homes and apartments in EPCOT would be constantly outfitted with the latest and greatest in that new technology. As cool as it sounds, I don’t think it would have worked out. If the concept art is anything to go off of, we’re talking about ten apartment buildings and anywhere from seven hundred to a thousand houses, housing up to 20,000 residents in total. Do we really think that every time GE came up with a new refrigerator or toaster, they’d be willing to pay to produce and install 7,000 of them, for the purposes of testing, just so they could do the whole thing over again with the next one? Furthermore while companies were slower with products and more open to showing them off in the 60s, today’s world is virtually the opposite. In a world in which companies like Apple are updating their products every 12 months, and keep their plans a secret until the very last possible second, it’s hard to imagine a city in which companies would be willing to show off their upcoming technology to competitors in a setting like Epcot. Besides, even if companies were willing to do all of that, would it even be possible with the speed at which new products are developed today? Would the speed result in a lifestyle in which resident’s homes were under a constant state of upgrade? Would people really want that? I suspect had he lived the extra 15+ years he said he would need to build EPCOT, he would have probably pulled off building a city of the future. However much like Tomorrowland, or Future World in the Epcot we would eventually get, I also suspect that city of the future would quickly become just another city of the present.

Disney's One Saturday Morning | A History & Demise: What Happened to ABC's Saturday Morning Block?
A historic look at Disney's One Saturday Morning (1997-2002) and it's apprentice, ABC Kids (2002-2011). It was everywhere, but not extremely accessible for EVERYONE, it would still take another 3 years for that to happen, especially with video. I think ABC cut their programming block early out of laziness. - Except...it wasn't just laziness. I never really went into ad revenue during the video...but that definitely factored in. A lot. - Power Rangers was going to be killed by Disney a number of times, but producers kept it alive by taking massive cuts. At one point, Disney was thinking of using Super Sentai footage and dubbing everything rather than filming new footage. They said Power Rangers "didn't fit their brand." However, I think they really forgot about it existing in the Iger-era, because if parents were really complaining about violence, then explain how Disney owns Lucasfilm and Marvel. Top 5 Biggest Disney Castle Mistakes!
Disney Beat! The Disney Castles are the centrepieces of the Disney theme parks around the world, including Walt Disney World in Florida, and the Disneyland parks in California, Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai & Hong Kong! There's been many times in Disney park history when the castles have received overlays to celebrate anniversary milestones, like Disneyland's 60th Anniversary or Disney World's 25th Anniversary where Cinderella castle was turned into a giant pink birthday cake. As of recently there's even been old castles receiving brand new designs like Sleeping Beauty castle in Hong Kong Disney. Some of the castles are part of a bigger overall ride, an experience like the Beast's castle at Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom or an attraction like the other castles in New Fantasyland that help place you in the magical world of Disney. This is all great but sometimes Disney misses the mark on these overlays and designs so today we'll be taking a look at Disney's Top 5 biggest castle mistakes in Disney park history! Top 5 NEW Attractions Coming to Disneyland in 2019
New Disney rides, shows & attractions are coming and 2019 is going to be an exciting year for the Disneyland Resort in California. Both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will be seeing additions which include Jessie's Critter Carousel and Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind which will complete Pixar Pier at California Adventure. Hopefully we'll see World of Color return in 2019 as well. The Walt Disney Company
An intro for my english class presentation: When you think in the Walt Disney Company probably the first things that come into your mind are: the parks, the movies, and lots and lots of fun. Since the screening of the first Mickey Mouse cartoon, 75 years ago, Disney has become the King of family entertainment. With classics like: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, to the new ones, like Cars. Disney has brought pure magic not just to the movie theaters, but to the hearts and the minds of the people from all around the world. Perhaps the magic is more evident in the parks; every year more than 40 million people visit the Walt Disney World Resort. That makes it the principal tourist attraction in the world. But what makes it, so attractive? The real magic is their obsession for making people happy and their dreams come true. But the parks are only part of Disney history, that would be only a 25% of the current Disney Empire. The films and entertainment are another 28%. What is their Key? Strategic planning: The process of developing and maintaining a strategic fit between the organization's goal, capabilities and it's changing marketing opportunities. In 1985 Michael Eisner established a powerful strategic central planning unit, which had the purpose of seeking new growth opportunities. During the 80s and the 90s Disney bought Capital Cities / ABC. That transformed the company into an international colossus with more than thirty thousand million dollars, invested in hundreds of companies divided in four groups: Entertainment studios, Media networks, Parks and Resorts and Consumer products. Disney has gone through some difficulty in obtaining consistent growth and profitability and the strategic planning group took responsibility for the uneven performance of the company, according to some analysts they tried to do more than they could. In 2004 the disagreements about strategic planning broke out between senior executives, which resulted in the expulsion of Eisner as chairman and his resignation as executive director. Less than two weeks after taking control the new executive director Robert Iger established as a priority the decentralization of strategic planning of the company and returned most of the functions of the group of division managers, proving that the individual business units that are located closer to their markets, can plan better their growth strategies. And a more decentralized strategic planning seems more logical than planning directed from the high levels.

History of Disney
This is the "History Of..." project for my MCOM 226 class. As you can probably tell, I chose to do the History of Disney. I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty proud of this bad boy. Took FOREVER to make, but it was worth it in the end. I decided to create a video that resembled a moving comic book, and I think I achieved that. Let me know what you think and feel free to leave some critiques! Music is "You've Got a Friend in Me" by Randy Newman and "Part of Your World Instrumental" from The Little Mermaid.

Disney DVD Logo History (2001-present)
Requested by MicrosoftSamFan2018 The YouTube Lover DESCRIPTION: Disney DVD is the brand name under which Buena Vista Home Entertainment releases its Disney-branded motion pictures. Disney began releasing titles on DVD in 1997, although they were not released in this format in the UK until 1999. VHS releases ceased with Bambi II, which was released on February 7, 2006 (However, Disney continued to distribute new titles on VHS through the Disney Movie Club). The brand launched a loyalty program called Disney Movie Rewards in October 2006. Participants can collect points by submitting ticket stubs from Disney feature films, "magic codes" from Disney home video purchases and Disney CDs. The points can be redeemed for prizes like games, DVDs, books, posters, and collectibles. (C)2018 Cinemation Pictures and Television All Rights Reserved
