Oracle Eloqua - Creating a Multi-Step Campaign

05:30
Multi-step campaigns provide further customization options to let you set up your campaign flow however you like. You can add a number of different campaign canvas elements. Depending on your needs, you can add elements to wait a certain amount of time before moving to the next step, send a second email if the first is not opened, add contacts to your database, and much more.
ORACLE DBA Startup Stages

02:33
The Startup 'nomount' Stage When you issue the startup command, the first thing the database will do is enter the nomount stage. During the nomount stage, Oracle first opens and reads the initialization parameter file 'init.ora' to see how the database is configured. For example, the sizes of all of the memory areas in Oracle are defined within the parameter file. After the parameter file is accessed, the memory areas associated with the database instance are allocated. Also, during the nomount stage, the Oracle background processes are started. Together, we call these processes and the associated allocated memory the Oracle instance. Once the instance has started successfully, the database is considered to be in the nomount stage. If you issue the startup command, then Oracle will automatically move onto the next stage of the startup, the mount stage. Starting the Oracle Instance 'Nomount Stage' There are some types of Oracle recovery operations that require the database to be in nomount stage. When this is the case, you need to issue a special startup command: startup nomount, as seen in this example: startup nomount The Mount Stage When the startup command enters the mount stage, it opens and reads the control file. The control file is a binary file that tracks important database information, such as the location of the database datafiles. In the mount stage, Oracle determines the location of the datafiles, but does not yet open them. Once the datafile locations have been identified, the database is ready to be opened. Mounting the Database Some forms of recovery require that the database be opened in mount stage. To put the database in mount stage, use the startup mount command as seen here: startup mount If you have already started the database instance with the startup nomount command, you might change it from the nomount to mount startup stage using the alter database command: alter database mount; The Open Oracle startup Stage The last startup step for an Oracle database is the open stage. When Oracle opens the database, it accesses all of the datafiles associated with the database. Once it has accessed the database datafiles, Oracle makes sure that all of the database datafiles are consistent. Opening the Oracle Database To open the database, you can just use the startup command as seen in this example startup If the database is mounted, you can open it with the alter database open command as seen in this example: alter database open;

Importing Data from Excel into Oracle Database using SQL Developer 4.1

02:23
One of SQL Developer’s most popular features has undergone a significant upgrade. Users can quickly define and recall delimited or Excel files to be imported to a new or existing Oracle table. Data preview and validation is provided for each column, as well as ‘best guess’ data type and date format mask mapping. This process can now be automated via the SQL Developer command line interface (SDCLI) ‘Import’ command. NOTE: This is a video only. There is no audio. Copyright © 2015 Oracle and/or its affiliates. Quickstart: Getting Started with Oracle and .NET

08:56
New to Oracle and .NET development? This video gives you everything you need to know to get up and running quickly! We walk you through downloading and installing the needed Oracle software and then connecting in Visual Studio and creating a simple C# application. The video starts at the Oracle .NET Developer Technology Center website at http://otn.oracle.com/dotnet We then download the "ODTwithODAC" package, extract it and run the installer. Note that ODAC version 12 works with Oracle Database versions 10.2 or higher. After installing we connect in Server Explorer and learn about the connection dialog features, including the Filters tab which by default filters out additional schemas you may have privileges on. We connect to the database using the easy to use EZ connect format. Finally we create a simple C# application and connect to the database using ODP.NET Managed driver and a EZ Config connect string. Prerequisites: 1) Visual Studio 2012 or 2013 -- any edition except Express Edition. Visual Studio Community Edition is supported. 2) An Oracle Database to connect to. You will need to know the hostname, port number and service name of the database. During the video we install: Oracle Data Provider for .NET Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio Oracle .NET Samples Oracle .NET Documentation

Jet Driver - How to find the Microsoft Access (ODBC) in Windows 7 64 bit - SQL Training Online

05:15
http://www.sqltrainingonline.com Jet Driver -- How to find the Microsoft Access Driver (ODBC) in Windows 7 64 bit - SQL Training Online In this video, I show you how to find the missing ODBC drivers in Windows 7. Where are the Windows 7 Jet Drivers? The Jet Driver is used for ODBC and allows you to interact with Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and other ODBC sources that don't have OLEDB drivers. I went and looked for them today, and they were gone! You find the ODBC connections in Administrative Tools. When I opened them up, and clicked ADD, I only saw 4 drivers. The problem is because, by default, when you are using the 64 bit Windows 7, the ODBC Administrator that opens up is the 64 bit version. Well, the Jet Driver doesn't support 64 bit. This means you have to find the 32 bit ODBC Administrator. I found this article, which showed me the location of my 32 bit ODBC Administrator here: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe If you open that one up, click on the User DSN tab, and click Add, you will find all of the missing drivers. So, that's where they went. Now I see the Jet Driver. But, you don't want to go find them every time, do you? So, I will show you how to create a shortcut in your Administrative Tools. Open your windows explorer, and navigate to the following location: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools Make a copy of the Data Sources (ODBC) Rename the copy to Data Sources (ODBC) - 32 Bit Now go to the properties and change the Target and Start In and replace "system32" with "SysWOW64". And click OK. That's it. Now you have a shortcut in your Administrative Tools that will pull up the 32 bit version of the ODBC Administrator and you will see the Jet Driver. CALL FORM (calls a modal form). OPEN_FORM (opens a separate, independent form). About Multiple Form Applications: -A multiple-form application is designed to open more than one form module during a single Forms Runtime session. -Every Forms Runtime session begins the same way—with a single form module being loaded into memory. -Once the first form module begins execution, it can programmatically invoke any number of additional form modules, which, in turn, can invoke still other forms. Such modular application development can provide advantages both at design time and during deployment. -When a form module programmatically invokes another, Oracle Forms looks for the new module in the appropriate directory and then loads it into memory. NEW_FORM: -Exits the current form and enters the indicated form. -When a form executes NEW_FORM to invoke another form, Oracle Forms exits the first form and releases its memory, and then loads the new form (i.e., the second form completely replaces the first. If changes are pending in the first form, Oracle Forms will prompt the end user to save them before the new form is loaded. -NEW_FORM is restricted. Code: new_form('E:\FORMS_ALL\MMS_form\MMS_demo\HOMEPAGE.fmx'); CALL_FORM: -When a form executes CALL_FORM to invoke another form, the called form is modal with respect to the calling form. Any windows that belong to the calling form are not usable until the called form is exited and control returns to the calling form. -CALL_FORM is an unrestricted procedure. -CALL_FORM is valid in Enter Query mode, while OPEN_FORM and NEW_FORM are not. -Code: call_form('E:\FORMS_ALL\MMS_form\MMS_demo\HOMEPAGE.fmx'); OPEN_FORM: -When a form executes OPEN_FORM to invoke another form, the first form remains displayed, and end users can navigate between the forms as desired. An opened form can share the same database session as the form from which it was invoked, or it can create a separate session of its own. For most GUI applications, using OPEN_FORM is the preferred way to implement multiple-form functionality. -OPEN_FORM is restricted. Code: open_form('E:\FORMS_ALL\MMS_form\MMS_demo\HOMEPAGE.fmx'); Contact us: email: [email protected] Skype: oracle26solutions Mob: 01734557080, 01627422780

Part 4 of SkillBuilders Tutorial "Beyond Data Guard". In this segment Oracle Certified Master DBA John Watson discusses and demonstrates The Read Mostly Database and using Data Guard to enhance performance by using the Standby Database for Query and directing DML to the Primary. For more see www.SkillBuilders.com/DataGuard. John: Now, the last topic. I've just got time to dealing with this. The last topic I want to look at is - I'd like to call it the read mostly database. This is a very nice technique. We're getting even more value out of your physical standby because remember what I've talked about before? When you open your database read-only you can write a very limited amount of data, basically only temporary data. Opening it read-write to the snapshot standby, yes, it's read-write but then you're not applying the redo so it's no longer valid as a real time data warehouse. The read mostly database is a compromise between the two. So it adds even more value ideally to Active Data Guard. It would function without Active Data Guard license but Active Data Guard is where you're going to get most benefits of this. This is where we've come to that low balancing question we had earlier. If you have say two applications, perhaps one application is your standard OLTP application. The other application is your query application. Maybe you've got business objects or discoverer. Business objects applications, discover applications, they're read intensive. They run massive queries. But they also do an occasional bit of DML. Not much, but they do enough to mean you cannot run them against read-only database in many circumstances. So what we need to do is redirect the small amount of DML to the primary while running all heavy weight queries against the standby. In a way, that means your application doesn't even know it's happening. How can I do that? I can do it like this. On my primary, as we see on the slide, send them some database links. So, on my primary which is Madrid, I'll begin by creating a user. I do need to start manage recovery here. So I cancelled recovery, I opened a database, let apply going. I'm about to connect to a user I haven't even created.

Creating a database, table, and inserting - SQLite3 with Python 3 part 1

10:59
Welcome to an SQLite mini-series! SQLite, as the name suggests, is a lite version of an SQL database. SQLite3 comes as a part of the Python 3 standard library. Databases offer, typically, a superior method of high-volume data input and output over a typical file such as a text file. SQLite is a "light" version that works based on SQL syntax. SQL is a programming language in itself, but is a very popular database language. Many websites use MySQL, for example. SQLite truly shines because it is extremely lightweight. Setting up an SQLite database is nearly instant, there is no server to set up, no users to define, and no permissions to concern yourself with. For this reason, it is often used as a developmental and protyping database, but it can and is used in production. The main issue with SQLite is that it winds up being much like any other flat-file, so high volume input/output, especially with simultaneous queries, can be problematic and slow. You may then ask, what really is the difference between a typical file and sqlite. First, SQLite will let you structure your data as a database, which can easily be queried, so you get that functionality both with adding new content and calling upon it later. Each table would likely need its own file if you were doing plain files, and SQLite is all in one. SQLite is also going to be buffering your data. A flat file will require a full load before you can start querying the full dataset, SQLite files don't work that way. Finally, edits do not require the entire file to be re-saved, it's just that part of the file. This improves performance significantly. Alright great, let's dive into some SQLite. https://pythonprogramming.net/sql-database-python-part-1-inserting-database/ Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQVvvaa0QuDezJh0sC5CqXLKZTSKU1YNo https://pythonprogramming.net https://twitter.com/sentdex https://www.facebook.com/pythonprogramming.net/ https://plus.google.com/+sentdex

Refresh Pivot Table Automatically when Source Data Changes

09:14
In this video I explain how to refresh pivot tables automatically when the source data changes. This solution uses a simple VBA macro and the Worksheet Change event. The Worksheet Change event macro runs every time a change is made to a worksheet. We can use this macro on the sheet that contains the source data to make sure our pivot tables are refreshed whenever the source data is modified or updated. Download the Excel workbook that contains the code: https://www.excelcampus.com/vba/refresh-pivot-tables-automatically/ I also share an alternative to the macro. We can enable the Pivot Table option: "Refresh data when opening the file" That option will only refresh the pivot tables when the file is opened by the user. It will NOT refresh the pivot tables when changes are made to the source data. For that to happen we need to use the macro solution. Mark Hurd Oracle OpenWorld 2017 Keynote 10-2-2017

01:05:40
Oracle Chief Executive Officer Mark Hurd delivers his keynote, “The Cloud: Transformational. Innovative. Foundational” at Oracle OpenWorld 2017. During Oracle OpenWorld 2017, Mark Hurd opened up his keynote by examining the current state of the industry, highlighting a macroeconomic viewpoint in the B2B IT space. Focusing on the constant drive for revenue and minimal growth in B2B IT compared to consumer IT, Mark noted that since 2000, half of the companies on the Fortune 500 have gone. Recognizing the pressure from industry disruptors, Mark went on to reiterate revenue growth is a fundamental corporate objective. However, Mark also noted another key component of business success in 2017 is managing risk. Touching on recent cybersecurity breaches, Mark mentioned that the next security breach could be even bigger, and companies are at risk by being unpatched. On average, it takes about a year for patches to get integrated into systems, but Mark pointed out that with Oracle, patching is integrated into Oracle Cloud for quick distribution and implementation. Security isn’t the only benefit with Oracle Cloud, Mark Hurd went on to state, Oracle Cloud also offers optimized stacks with flexible scalability, a point that would be reaffirmed by customer appearances later in the keynote. Mark pointed out that with Cloud apps, the burden is on the industry rather than the customer. He noted other customer benefits, such as a significantly lower total cost of ownership and the capability to engineer innovative and emerging technology directly into cloud applications. At Oracle OpenWorld 2017, Oracle’s Larry Ellison announced the introduction of the world’s first autonomous database. Mark reiterated this is one of Oracle’s biggest announcements in the past five years. Defining Oracle’s objectives moving forward, Mark stated it’s not enough to have the best cloud apps, but that they have to work together as a suite; and Oracle has the most complete suite of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) applications on the market today. Following up on predictions from previous Oracle OpenWorld keynotes, Mark took a look at recent data surrounding adoption of cloud services and data centers provided by Cisco and IDC. Noting that current adoption rates are in-line with his 2025 predictions, Mark believes these rates will accelerate as the movement to the cloud is “an inevitable destination.” The latter half of the keynote focused on messages from Oracle Cloud customers, including companies like Bloom Energy, FedEx, and Gap. Another Oracle customer, Lyft, mentioned their “Ride for a Reason” program, sending a portion of ride proceeds resulting from conference activity to the American Red Cross in support of hurricane relief efforts. Mark was joined by Chris Wood from FedEx, who applauded Oracle Cloud’s reliability and scalability for his company’s global logistics processes. Other guests commended Oracle Cloud’s timely and accurate data delivery, including Randy Furr (CFO of Bloom Energy) and Gap Inc. CIO Paul Chapman. Wrapping up the keynote, Mark reiterated that companies are moving quickly and Oracle’s extensive cloud portfolio can help. Mark Hurd has been a keynote speaker at Oracle OpenWorld, the world's largest business and technology conference, since 2010. In his keynotes, Mark not only discusses company growth and the company’s latest innovations, he also analyzes industry trends and predicts how these will play out over the next several years. In addition to Oracle OpenWorld, Mark has delivered keynotes for other Oracle events, including Oracle CloudWorld, Modern Customer Experience, Oracle Industry Connect, and Modern Supply Chain Experience. As CEO of Oracle, Mark has championed Oracle Cloud as the path forward for enterprise computing. Since joining Oracle, Mark has revamped Oracle’s sales force, shifting the sale process to allow salespeople to become experts in their product categories. Mark has delivered keynotes for some of the industry’s top companies. He has also been a guest speaker for several Universities including University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business, and Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business and the McBride Center for International Business. Other events Mark has been a featured speaker include TEDxWakeForestU (an independently organized TED event), Web Summit, and NetSuite SuiteWorld. Mark has been named multiple times by Business 2.0 magazine as one of the 50 Who Matter. He was featured several times in Barron’s in the publication’s Best CEOs lists. In 2007, Mark was recognized by Fortune magazine as one of their 25 Most Powerful People in Business. Siddhartha Agarwal, Oracle Cloud Platform - Oracle OpenWorld - #oow16 - #theCUBE

17:22
Oracle focuses on empowering developers with the right tools | #OOW by Bev Terrell | Sep 21, 2016 The message is clear: Oracle wants developers to know that it has been listening, and that it currently has the tools and processes in place to assist them in managing their data. Many of the heavy-lifting tasks associated with data analytics are already managed by Oracle tools, leaving developers free to be creative with the data results. Siddhartha Agarwal, VP of Product Management and Strategy, Oracle Cloud Platform, at Oracle, joined Peter Burris (@plburris) and John Furrier (@furrier), cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during Oracle OpenWorld, held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA, to discuss how Oracle is supporting developers in managing the vast amounts of data that are being generated daily. Oracle: Developer-friendly The discussion opened up around Oracle Cloud platform and how it’s known to be a developer-friendly environment. “We want to get developers excited to build the next generation on the cloud … not just Oracle; SQL, MySQL containers, bare-metal, [using] an open standard,” said Agarwal. He stressed that Oracle Cloud is an open, modern and easy platform to build on and that Oracle allows automatic scalability, especially for mobile apps and product distribution. The tools developers need, right now One of the main data concerns is managing containers. “Containers are not that easy … the orchestration technology is changing very rapidly. There’s a stack of three or four technologies, that’s changing,” Agarwal said. “We are giving you container as a service; you can bring them as-is to the Oracle public cloud. … We take care of container management, so you can just use the environment as a developer.” Oracle’s Container Cloud Service delivers comprehensive tooling to compose, deploy, orchestrate and manage Docker container-based applications for dev, dev/test, DevOps, and cloud-native use cases. There’s no need for developers to worry about putting together tools; they are plug-and-play ready right now, according to Agarwal.

A-34 Oracle Forms How To Call Form using NEW_FORM_CALL_FORM_OPEN_FORM (O.S-34) 2019

10:42
A-34 Oracle Forms How To Call Form using NEW_FORM_CALL_FORM_OPEN_FORM (O.S-34) Dear viewer, In this tutorial you will learn To programmatically invoke another form module, a form can execute three built-in Oracle Forms procedures: NEW_FORM (replaces the current form with a different form). CALL FORM (calls a modal form). OPEN_FORM (opens a separate, independent form). About Multiple Form Applications: -A multiple-form application is designed to open more than one form module during a single Forms Runtime session. -Every Forms Runtime session begins the same way—with a single form module being loaded into memory. -Once the first form module begins execution, it can programmatically invoke any number of additional form modules, which, in turn, can invoke still other forms. Such modular application development can provide advantages both at design time and during deployment. -When a form module programmatically invokes another, Oracle Forms looks for the new module in the appropriate directory and then loads it into memory. NEW_FORM: -Exits the current form and enters the indicated form. -When a form executes NEW_FORM to invoke another form, Oracle Forms exits the first form and releases its memory, and then loads the new form (i.e., the second form completely replaces the first. If changes are pending in the first form, Oracle Forms will prompt the end user to save them before the new form is loaded. -NEW_FORM is restricted. Code: new_form('E:\FORMS_ALL\MMS_form\MMS_demo\HOMEPAGE.fmx'); CALL_FORM: -When a form executes CALL_FORM to invoke another form, the called form is modal with respect to the calling form. Any windows that belong to the calling form are not usable until the called form is exited and control returns to the calling form. -CALL_FORM is an unrestricted procedure. -CALL_FORM is valid in Enter Query mode, while OPEN_FORM and NEW_FORM are not. -Code: call_form('E:\FORMS_ALL\MMS_form\MMS_demo\HOMEPAGE.fmx'); OPEN_FORM: -When a form executes OPEN_FORM to invoke another form, the first form remains displayed, and end users can navigate between the forms as desired. An opened form can share the same database session as the form from which it was invoked, or it can create a separate session of its own. For most GUI applications, using OPEN_FORM is the preferred way to implement multiple-form functionality. -OPEN_FORM is restricted. Code: open_form('E:\FORMS_ALL\MMS_form\MMS_demo\HOMEPAGE.fmx');

Simple DataReader in C#

06:33
Simple DataReader in C#. Hello. Today, I want to tell the absolute beginner how to read a value from a SQLDataReader in C#. If you are an experienced ADO.NET developer then this article will be a complete bore for you. But, believe it or not, there are people who are trying to learn how to work with databases in C#. So maybe I can help out at least one person! What is an SQL DataReader? DataReaders are a fast way to pull records from a database when all you want to do is simply READ. You may have heard the term "Firehose Cursor" used to describe a DataReader. A firehose is a good comparison because the water (data) only flows one way and it flows fast. DataReaders can not be used to update data, delete data, or anything else other than reading. A good example of when to use a DataReader would be cities in a state. You may want to read out all cities in New York and since they aren't exactly changing every day, you would want to pull them down as fast as possible. Ok, I promised fast and easy so here goes. First, you must instantiate (create) a new database connection. Now, I am only working with Microsoft's SQL server today. If you need help converting this article to other database platforms like Oracle or MySQL then please let me know. Make sure you are also using the needed namespaces before you begin. using System.Data; using System.Data.SqlClient; SqlConnection adoConn = new SqlConnection("Data Source=server;Initial Catalog=database;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=username;Password=password"); adoConn.Open(); Database is now created and opened. The string that we passed is called the "Connection String". All it does is tell the database how and where to open the connection. Substitute "server", "Initial Catalog", and "User ID/Password" with your database information. Remember, this is ONLY an open connection. The database is sitting there waiting on a command. And that is exactly what we setup next. A command. Think of a command as a direct order you give the server (even though it may or may not listen!). // new command string sql = "SELECT CustomerName FROM MyTable"; SqlCommand adoCmd = new SqlCommand(sql, adoConn); The sql string is simply a SQL command we are passing. The adoConn is telling the command which connection to use. Simple, huh? Ok, now we have an open connection and a command (using the sql string). Our next move is to create the DataReader and display some data. SqlDataReader adoDR = adoCmd.ExecuteReader(); if (adoDR.HasRows) { while (adoDR.Read()) { Response.Write(adoDR["CustomerName"].ToString()); } } The ExecuteReader() method sends the SQL data from the command (our SELECT statement) and if there are records, brings them one at a time down to the DataReader (adoDR). The Response.Write command simply sends the data to the web page. This could have been Console.WriteLine, etc. Notice how the "CustomerName" was used. Be careful here because you want to make sure you don't try to call a field in a table that you didn't SELECT. Ok, the last thing to do is close connections and dispose so that we don't create memory leaks on the server. adoDR.Close(); adoDR.Dispose(); adoCmd.Dispose(); adoConn.Close(); adoConn.Dispose(); There you have it. Simple. ADO.NET has made it really easy to display data. This is just a tiny scratch on the Titanic. ADO.NET could fill 50,000 pages! I hope you enjoyed this article. I have to admit, I'm not much of a writer but I remember the first time I pulled data from a database and I wished I had someone telling me in plain English how to get right to the point. Oracle Innovation: Students @ Venture Capital

10:00
Sergio GIACOLETTO, Executive Vice President, Oracle EMEA Bucharest, July 9, 2008 "Oracle Innovation programme intends to bring together universities, venture capitalists, the Junior Achievement, the Young Enterprise Association and to put in place a formal process to help students to formulate ideas in a way that they can become business plans. We can help to train them and then we can help them to find the money," said Sergio GIACOLETTO. He added that Oracle is now the largest employer of ICT skill in Romania, employing 1300 people in areas like technical support, consulting, product support and product development in the Oracle Center in Bucharest, opened in 2004. The Innovation program is the next phase of investments by Oracle in Romania. "The initial wave of foreign investment in CEE countries has created, of course, jobs, but it has not necessarily helped to create local entrepreneurs and to create local companies which are needed on the long term for the success of the country. In the long term, low cost is not a sustainable competitive advantage. It is important to create more value added and to have a right balance of foreign direct investment and locally created investment." Oracle Corp. had USD22bn revenue with a 28% yoy growth in the financial year ended May 2008. The company is reinvesting about 12% of its revenues in R&D, USD2.6bn, in areas like technology infrastructure, databases and security. Besides internal innovation through its own R&D, Oracle created external channels of innovation through partnerships with companies in 149 countries. The "Innovation" initiative launched in Romania on July 9 is part of this dual innovation strategy of Oracle.
