Deep Sea Eyes - Poem Video
This is a poem I wrote for a club I joined. I read it at my club's coffeehouse, which is a big deal since I'm overly shy. So yeah, the poem is mine so it would be awesome if no one uses my words without at least leaving me a comment asking for permission to do so and telling me for what you'd like to use it for. Also, I do not own this song. It is "Rose (instrumental)" from the movie Titanic. Here's the full poem: "Deep Sea Eyes" A wave of belonging A current of passion A rush of never-ending love In your Deep Sea Eyes I see the ocean Big and blue, raving yet calm I feel the tide Gentle and cool, caressing my skin I hear the waves Loud and strong, crashing with adoration I smell the breeze Bold and sweet, overwhelms my senses These are sensations What you make me experience These are what you remind me of What your calm nature represents When you hold me tight I am surfing the highest waves When you kiss me chastely I am walking on the far sea shores When you say you love me I am flying over the large oceans When you look into my gaze I see Deep Sea Eyes

An ocean poem | Victoria Batista | TEDxOU
In this original spoken word poem, Victoria describes unique traits that different deep sea creatures have evolved in order to make a place for themselves in the massive depths of the ocean. As a spoken word artist and performance poet, Isabel Victoria Bautista holds words to a high standard. For the last seven years, she has used poetry and humor to explore and explain a variety of social, political and personal issues that would be difficult to discuss otherwise. She was Oklahoma's representative to the 2014 Individual World Poetry Slam and has competed on the Oklahoma City Red Dirt Poetry slam team at several regional tournaments. She has one chapbook of poetry titled, Take Your Shoes Off at the Front Door. She regularly performs both spoken word and stand-up comedy at venues around Oklahoma City. Victoria is a second-year law student with hopes of working as a human rights attorney. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

Walt Whitman "Sail forth--steer for the deep waters only" Poem animation
Heres a virtual movie of the great Walt Whitman reading "Sail forth--steer for the deep waters only"" from his long poem "Passage to India" written in 1869 the poem was published in Leaves of Grass in 1870 to celebrate both the engineering achievement and the opportunity to connect to other people and spiritual tradition. Walter "Walt" Whitman (May 31, 1819 -- March 26, 1892) was an American poet, essayist and journalist. A humanist, he was a part of the transition between transcendentalism and realism, incorporating both views in his works. Whitman is among the most influential poets in the American canon, often called the father of free verse.[1] His work was very controversial in its time, particularly his poetry collection Leaves of Grass, which was described as obscene for its overt sexuality. Born on Long Island, Whitman worked as a journalist, a teacher, a government clerk, and -- in addition to publishing his poetry -- was a volunteer nurse during the American Civil War. Early in his career, he also produced a temperance novel, Franklin Evans (1842). Whitman's major work, Leaves of Grass, was first published in 1855 with his own money. The work was an attempt at reaching out to the common person with an American epic. He continued expanding and revising it until his death in 1892. After a stroke towards the end of his life, he moved to Camden, New Jersey, where his health further declined. He died at age 72 and his funeral became a public spectacle Kind Regards Jim Clark All rights reserved on this video recording copyright Jim Clark 2012 PLEASE NOTE - The image used in this animation is not actualy Walt Whitman it is a lookalike of Walt Whitman and is not to my knowledge a copyrighted image please write to me if you have bonafide information to the contrary. at my email address of [email protected] Sail forth--steer for the deep waters only....... Passage, immediate passage! the blood burns in my veins! Away O soul! hoist instantly the anchor! Cut the hawsers--haul out--shake out every sail! Have we not stood here like trees in the ground long enough? Have we not grovel'd here long enough, eating and drinking like mere brutes? Have we not darken'd and dazed ourselves with books long enough? Sail forth--steer for the deep waters only, Reckless O soul, exploring, I with thee, and thou with me, For we are bound where mariner has not yet dared to go, And we will risk the ship, ourselves and all. O my brave soul! O farther farther sail! O daring joy, but safe! are they not all the seas of God? O farther, farther, farther sail!

Algernon Charles Swinburne - Prelude : Tristan & Isolde - a poem
Swinburne's Poem "Prelude - Tristan and Isolde": Fate, out of the deep sea's gloom, When a man's heart's pride grows great, And nought seems now to foredoom Fate, Fate, laden with fears in wait, Draws close through the clouds that loom, Till the soul see, all too late, More dark than a dead world's tomb, More high than the sheer dawn's gate, More deep than the wide sea's womb, Fate. Ocean Poem
There’s something about the ocean That makes you feel small And powerful At the same time It’s like having an idea that’s a bit to grand to fully wrap your mind around You can’t see the edges of it And you can’t see everything that it contains But you can feel it All that big wild glorious movement The knowledge that you’re in the presence of something that does not care Weather you live or die Beautiful You can hear it too If you listen right The waves against the rocks The way the light touches the water It looks like first love and heartbreak at the same time And you’ll start to understand why People have been called to the sea The water in our own bodies Bringing us home to the tides Song- The Shining, Badly Drawn Boy

How the sea appeared to the stones - poem II from An ear to the earth
All stones hum, Some deeper than others Sunk deep in the earth under us. We keep an ear to the earth And listen to the stones, Cradling them with our roots. The stones have stories too; Stories of seas, Of seas leaving And leaving land, seas Like windy grasses Waving in fallow fields Like big skies Lying under big skies Above. The leaves are reaching up Into big sky above. We want to know Tell us, tell us all you see, Is there, anywhere Big sky below? . taken from An ear to the earth II

Sea Sad: A Poem | KAY
A poem I wrote about living by the sea. "When it all gets too much I go to a quieter place Where I can be alone at 5am. The whooshing of the tide Washes away my worries Whirling and twirling Inside my stomach Seagulls soar and taunt eachother Fighting over fish and chips and bread and butter. I take a deep breath and I utter. What would I do if I didn’t live five minutes from the water? What if I didn’t have a place to go? To throw pebbles into the sea and watch them fall to underneath How breif will my anxiety cease, until I crawl back into bed and stare at the ceiling? Atleast I have a place to go. When I feel overwhelmed, anxious or low Otherwise I would fall like a stone Into the sea, and underneath."

The sea smiles far-off. Spume-teeth, sky-lips. 'What do you sell, troubled child, child with naked breasts?' 'Sir, I sell salt-waters of the sea.' 'What do you carry, dark child, mingled with your blood?' 'Sir, I carry salt-waters of the sea.' 'These tears of brine where do they come from, mother?' 'Sir, I cry salt-waters of the sea.' 'Heart, this deep bitterness, where does it rise from?' 'So bitter, the salt-waters of the sea!' The sea smiles far-off. Spume-teeth. Sky-lips. BALLAD OF THE WATER OF THE SEAS. FEDERICO GARCIA LORCA
