Apple Vs Google: Product Ecosystems

This is apple, everyone’s favorite fruit but isn’t a fruit brand. And this is Google everyone’s favorite search giant. They both run their own ecosystems of apps and programs that, when you actually break it down, do very similar things. For example Apple maps and google maps each provide you directions to any locations, with apple maps being more prone to mistakes. Also, they each provide an app store in which users can download 3rd party apps that also make Apple, Google, and the app developer some money. Then comes the plethora of similar apps like google docs, apple iWork apps, hangouts, and FaceTime. Just to name a few. Lastly, they each have a cloud storage system that integrates into their other apps and contain with very similar pricing models. What sets these two companies apart then? Well, Apple focuses their software on their own platforms of iOS and Mac OS. Oh. And Uh. Windows for itunes, because well, Windows users like music too. Google however, while they have the largest integration with their own products, they also love to try and date every operating system and device imaginable. Apple focuses on this concept of Exclusivity, in which they primarily focus on their own products. Why would they do this, what would they gain you ask? Well, the easiest answer would be it differentiates themselves from their competition. Usually this guy. But that’s not the only reason, leading us to the next point. Because all their accounts, services and apps work so well together while ousting the competition, they practically jail you inside blocking you from the outside world. And if you want to leave then your app purchases and other data locked to your account becomes practically useless except for a few things I suppose. Not only does their suite of software support cross functionality between themselves but their products also have features that only apply to other apple products to further lock you into their deep ecosystem. But that’s only Apple’s way of appealing to the average person. What does Google do to be different? Let’s rewind a little. Okay, TOO far. There we go. What google does different from Apple, is that they leave themselves open to every operating system imaginable. Most of their services could be accessed on the web giving you room to pretty much do your work wherever you are. They also make it easy to share your workflow with others because pretty much anyone has access to google services. Google is praised for this system that allows access to pretty much any of their many services with just an email account with them. But it’s not all well. As I said before, Google dates everyone. Google loves learning about you and storing that data, they love learning everything about you so that they can push things they just KNOW you’ll love. They’re your obsessive girlfriend. They track pretty much everything you do when logged in, and use that data to learn more. That would be considered creepy if Google was a person. So no matter which ecosystem you just so happen to fall in, which services you use from these two, they both have their pros and cons. At the end of the day it’s your choice what to use.

We'll start with the entry-level model, work out way up to the flagship model--the best TV Samsung makes--and along the way'll, you'll learn what kind of design and picture quality differences you can expect as you move up. Let's start up with what will be the same throughout every Samsung Smart TV you buy, and that's Tizen. Samsung continues to refine its Tizen smart TV operating system to the point where its TVs are more interactive and intuitive than ever before. Central to QLED smart improvements is a new Samsung One remote control, which the company says operates more devices, and supports more smart TV features via voice control. The TVs’ so-called Smart Hub can now be deeply customized using Samsung’s Smart View app, available for iOS and Android devices. Additionally, Samsung has come up with a new music service interface which corrals all supported internet radio stations and streaming music services into one place, with users’ playlists from all available services displayed in one central place. Samsung's most affordable 4K UHD TV, with HDR is the MU6300 and comes with 3 HDMI ports, along with one with HDMI-ARC for easy connection to a soundbar. For the price, this TV has good black levels, decent color, and better picture quality than you'd get with a 1080p TV for sure. If we move up a couple of notches, we get tot he MU7500, which is as a curved model, which isn't as common as you might think nowadays; Samsung is the last manufacturer to make curved TVs. At a glance, you'll notice the picture quality is a little better than the MU6300 and is brighter--which really makes HDR content pop of the screen better. Next on our list is the MU8000, where we're going to see a much flashier design in a trimmer bezel and slimmer profile. It's got a uniform backside and there's a chrome strip at the bottom that plays nicely against its two medal stands. With the MU8000, you'll also get a Samsung One Connect box, which lets you connect all your components to the box, then run a single cable up to your TV. The MU8000 punches well above its price point, where HDR starts to look pretty amazing at this level, with intense brightness, color, and very good looking black levels. If you're not looking to pay the premium price for Samsung's Q-Series, then this is an excellent choice. Finally on our list is one of those Q-Series TVs, the Q9, the crown jewel of of Samsung's new QLED TV lineup, and in our opinion, the best TV Samsung has ever made. It has a completely flat back, and a hidden mounting bay, which allows almost gapless wall mount when you use a special Samsung wall mount hardware. In terms of picture quality, we think the Samsung Q9 is one of the best screens you'll see all year from any manufacturer. In the last video we started talking about your actual product or service and we began thinking about your success with it as its affected by the strength of your team and how strong your processes are. Taking a look at your business like this begins to give us an understanding of where your overall strengths and weaknesses are. But we still need more information about your actual product or service so what's the next question? We're going to start getting a lot more targeted in our questions about what you sell. We need some numbers now. By product or service line - what are the profit margins, revenue, and sales volume for each – for the last three years? This is a BIG question! That's actually a lot of numbers to look at. Now we're really gonna start learning something! The first question, about the staying power of the product in the market and your experience with making and selling it isn’t enough to really gage how the product is doing so I dig deeper with this second question… This is where we start to see how well specific products and market segments are doing… We start to find out where some big opportunities are, where you should focus growth, and what you need to fix or maybe stop selling, or push even harder on. This one question can lead to a whole host of second level questions. By looking at these numbers I can see whether or not a specific offering is picking up steam, or possibly losing market share, and i can get a bit of a glimpse into how your sales efforts are performing. I would anecdotally compare what I know about your product or service to see if there's an opportunity that's being missed. For example, can I quickly name several other competitors in your space that are doing well competing against you with this particular offer? I'd also be thinking about whether or not I know of a substitute product. If your competition or a reasonable substitute is doing well, then that would lead me to evaluate a few things like the overall quality of your offer, your sales efforts, and the potential size of the market. I want to know which of your products and services is making or losing money, and WHY. I'd look at how your competition is priced. We could end up discussing how you arrived at your price. I firmly believe that if you build up your price based on your underlying costs and you obey that discipline, you will always make money when you sell. This belief assumes that your costs aren’t out of line with the market and that you understand and market your specific value proposition well. If you can't deliver a certain product or service at the market rate and make money, then you should be asking yourself why, what is everyone doing that you're not, what do they know that you don't? From these initial numbers, I’ll dig deep to find the answer to why certain offerings are doing well, and others are not. Create Sales Order for item AS54888 (this Product item has warranty item associated with it as part of BOM). This is my Line 1.1 2. Add service line (line # 1.1..1) in the Order and refer the Line 1.1 as product line. 3. Pick Release and Ship confirm Order. 4. Don't Run Workflow background process yet. 5. Query Order 66666 in Service Contract and you can see Service Contract 22049 has created .Please note that this service contract is for the Free Warranty item ( that was part of BOM of product item) and contract amount = 0 6. Now run workflow background process that will progress order line to fulfillment. 7. Once Step #6 is done, query order in Service Contract Module again and you can now see Contract # 22050 .This is for the extended warranty line and it is in Signed status, with Start date in Future date.
