Today we're going to learn the basics of Excel. Let's get started. So now let's talk about some common Functions that EXCEL has for us. They are SUM, AVERAGE, MEDIAN, MAX and MIN. Let's go through each one. SUM is simply the total of all of these numbers put together. Notice the "=" sign in the beginning, the name of the Function (SUM), the open parentheses - "(" and the closed parentheses - ")" and then the actual CELLS that are being referenced. I'm going to hit ENTER. And there it is. This is the total of all of those. I can simply COPY and PASTE that Formula across here and widen the COLUMNS so that I can see everything. And the same Formula is going on over here and over here but with the right data. Let's do the AVERAGE function. "=" AVERAGE, open parentheses "(" - I want to take the AVERAGE of all of these. And notice the colon - ":" - in between these two CELLS to show in between, to show selecting all of these, closed parentheses - ")" - hit ENTER. This is now the exact AVERAGE. I'm going to COPY this over and PASTE this over here as well. Notice that if I change any number, it automatically updates. That's the beauty of using Functions. Let's go to MEDIAN. "=" the MEDIAN or the number that's in the midpoint of all the numbers in the data set. And here we go. So out of this whole range the most middle point is 101,126. And with these sets of data over here. Let's do the MAXimum number which is out of all the numbers, out of all the CELLS that I'm choosing what is the highest valued CELL and it is this one right here. Same concept. Let's apply it over here. We can do the same exact thing. "=" MIN and it gives us the lowest valued CELL and returns that. And again it will also automatically update. And there you have it - total or SUM, AVERAGE, MEDIAN, MAX and MIN functions.

EXCEL: Sum of Squares and Sum of Sum of Cubes of a List / Array of numbers by SumProduct function SUMPRODUCT function The formula syntax and usage of the SUMPRODUCT function in Microsoft Excel. Description Multiplies corresponding components in the given arrays, and returns the sum of those products. Syntax SUMPRODUCT(array1, [array2], [array3], ...) The SUMPRODUCT function syntax has the following arguments: • Array1 Required. The first array argument whose components you want to multiply and then add. • Array2, array3,... Optional. Array arguments 2 to 255 whose components you want to multiply and then add. Remarks • The array arguments must have the same dimensions. If they do not, SUMPRODUCT returns the #VALUE! error value. • SUMPRODUCT treats array entries that are not numeric as if they were zeros. Example Copy the example data in the following table, and paste it in cell A1 of a new Excel worksheet. For formulas to show results, select them, press F2, and then press Enter. If you need to, you can adjust the column widths to see all the data. SumProduct : Microsoft Excel SUMPRODUCT formula multiplies the corresponding items and returns the sum of all multiplied value of the results. Syntax of SumProduct formula :- “SUMPRODUCT( array1, [array2, ... array_n] )” The ranges of cells or arrays that you want to multiply. All arrays must have the same number of rows and columns. At each time step, the MPC controller makes predictions about the future lateral positions of the car. To drive the predicted path of the car as close to the reference as possible, the MPC controller formulates the control problem as an optimization problem. It tries to minimize the errors between the lateral positions of the car and the reference as well as steering wheel angle increments. The cost function is represented as a weighted squared sum of these two terms. The solution to this optimization problem provides the optimal steering wheel angle sequence. At the current time step, MPC only applies the first step of this optimal sequence to the car and disregards the rest. In the next time step, it gets a new measurement of the car’s lateral position. The prediction horizon shifts by one time step, and the controller repeats the same cycle to calculate the next optimal steering wheel angle.
