Capri Tour - What to see on a day trip

03:34
Capri - What we saw on our day trip from Sorrento! Stunning views & more. My video of what to see in Sorrento is here: https://youtu.be/0v874sJwHUM My video of what to see in Positano is here (3m10s): https://youtu.be/q9QF3Camv-0 You can also see my Pompeii tour video here (9m06s): https://youtu.be/Gbr0QAX8XG8 And you can see my Herculaneum tour video here (7m56s): https://youtu.be/ErczUC9s-kU Here's the Capri video narrative: Capri is a small Italian island in the Bay of Naples, about 5 kilometers from the mainland. We visited on a day trip in April, arriving via a fast jet ferry from Sorrento and avoiding the peak summer season, when the island can be overrun with tourists. Capri is also easy to reach by ferry from Naples. We arrived at Capri’s main port, Marina Grande, which is on the north coast. From here you can take boat trips, for example to the Blue Grotto, which is a flooded sea-cave, or you can take a boat to the south coast to see the Faraglioni Rocks. However, with limited time we decided to make for Capri town, then on to to Anacapri and Monte Solaro. To get from Marina Grande up to Capri town we took the funicular railway which connects the harbour to the Piazzetta, the town’s main square. Capri’s two main centres, Capri town and its uphill rival Anacapri, are almost entirely given over to tourism and prices can be high. Capri is a world-famous beauty spot and it’s also a summer favourite of holidaying VIPs. The Piazzetta is full of fashionable bars and it’s well worth stopping for an espresso. You might even see one of those VIPs! The square is dominated by a free-standing clock tower. Note the tiled clock face. Capri is well known for its maiolica tiles. Here they can be seen forming a map of the island. We boarded a crowded bus to Anacapri and explored the island’s second town. Walking along Via Giuseppe Orlandi, we saw the Casa Rossa, a brightly coloured house built in the late 1800s by an American colonel. It’s now a museum. Continuing along this road, we reached Piazza San Nicola and the Church of San Michele, built in Italian baroque style at the turn of the 18th century. Built on an octagonal Greek cross plan, the church is famous for its maiolica floor decoration depicting the expulsion of Adam and Eve. It was completed in 1761. For an impressive view of the entire floor, you can climb the spiral staircase to the organ loft and look out over the church from above. More maiolica tiles can be seen nearby, decorating the benches in Piazza Armando Diaz. The Monte Solaro chairlift is also in Anacapri, and it reaches the top of the 589 meters high mountain within minutes. From the summit there are picturesque views over the island and across the Bay of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno. There’s also a great view of the Faraglioni Rocks from here. These three spurs of rock rise from the sea within meters of the coast and are one of the favourite destinations for boat tours of the island’s coast. We hiked down from the summit back to Anacapri. The path is quite uneven in places but the walk is well worth it for the changing panoramas. On the way down, you can see a series of small bronze plaques. Each represents a stop on the Via Crucis, or Way of the Cross. We headed back to Marina Grande and caught the last ferry back to Sorrento, which left late afternoon. You can see plenty of this beautiful island in a few hours, but don’t expect to fit everything in. Next time, maybe we’ll get to the Blue Grotto! Filmed in April 2016 by Deanna Allison.

Africa Safaris and travel 2016 - Botswana, Zimbabwe & Zambia

08:47
African Safaris and travel 2016 - Botswana, Zimbabwe & Zambia - Africa trip 2016 Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube Africa has 54 sovereign countries—the most on any continent—and is the second largest continent in terms of both land area and population. Africa is bounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, by the Red Sea to the northeast, and by the Indian Ocean to the southeast. Africa is a vast continent spanning over 8,000km (5,000 mi) north to south and 7,500km (4,800 mi) east to west (not including islands) and contains a wide array of peoples, skin colours, religions, and cultures. Africa contains the world's longest river—the 6,650km long (4,100 mi) Nile River running from Burundi to Egypt—while the Congo River in the DRC is the second largest in terms of discharge as well as the deepest with a depth of over 230m (750 ft) in some spots. Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro is the world's tallest free-standing mountain at 5,890m (19,340 ft). Djibouti's Lake Assal is the second lowest point on Earth, the saltiest lake outside Antarctica, and one of the hottest places on Earth. While the first activity most people associate with Africa is safaris, there are endless possibilities for adventure. You can purchase crafts in markets, venture into the Sahara with a Tuareg caravan, visit pygmy villages, hike through jungle to watch gorillas, relax on tropical islands in the Indian Ocean, snack on exotic treats, travel down a river in a dugout "pirogue", travel across savannah on a colonial-era railway, and much more. Africa is a very diverse continent, with each country, or even each part of a country having its own unique culture. While it is common for people in the West to refer to Africa as if it was a single country, one should remember the sheer size of the continent, and that Africa is not one country but 54 different countries, meaning that it is impossible to make generalisations of Africa as a whole. Tragically misunderstood by many people as a land of poverty, corruption, war and famine, and simply as a land of suffering—a misconception only bolstered by the media and the numerous NGOs on the continent—Africa today is a vast continent with many bustling metropolises, friendly people, and amazingly diverse and beautiful landscapes. While there are some places resembling the stereotypical Africa of war, famine, and poverty, most of the continent is peaceful, well-fed, and of working class . See ========= Flora & Fauna ========== Many visitors are attracted by the African flora and fauna and several countries benefit from Safari tourism to African National Parks. Natural Wonders Africa is home to many famous natural wonders, from the Nile River, the world's longest river, to Victoria Falls. The continent is home to two of the world's four volcanoes with permanent lava lakes—the dramatic Mount Nyiragongo which rises hundreds of metres above Goma, DRC and Erta Ale in Ethiopia's stark Danakil Depression (the others are Mt.Erebus in Antarctica & Kilauea in Hawaii). Both volcanoes can be climbed by the adventurous tourist to stand at the rim gazing in awe at the bubbling lava below, an especially incredible sight at night! Landscapes ============ Historical civilizations While the continent's diverse and unique wildlife is often all that is mentioned in regards to African travel, as home to the oldest civilizations on the planet, Africa has equally impressive cultures and history. The most famous civilization on the continent, and arguably in the world, is that of ancient Egypt. From the southern city of Abu Simbel to Luxor and all the way north to Alexandria and Cairo, including the Pyramids of Giza, the only surviving of the original Seven Wonders of the World and the most iconic symbols of this ancient kingdom. Sites from the Nubian-Kushite Kingdom that broke away from Egypt can be found in Sudan, such as Gebel Barkal and many other pyramids in Meroe. Ethiopia offers many ruins from the ancient Axumite Kingdom where the Queen of Sheba ruled. The obelisks and Dungur ruins in Axum were built prior to the kingdom's conversion to Christianity, while many other great monuments, such as the Ezana Stone and the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion, where the Arc of the Covenant is said to be stored, were built after the conversion as religious sites. Other famous Christian structures built later by the kingdom's successor, the Abyssinian Empire, especially during the 12th and 13th centuries, can also be found in Lalibela.

Pompeii 1-day Tour - What to see in Italy's Roman ruins - Mini-documentary

09:06
This is what you might see during a one-day (7-hour) tour of Pompeii's Roman ruins in Italy. Note - The city is huge. You won't see everything in a day and some areas are usually closed for conservation. Be sure to also check out part 2 - the Herculaneum tour (7m56s): https://youtu.be/ErczUC9s-kU My video of what to see in Sorrento is here (6m16s): https://youtu.be/0v874sJwHUM And here's my short film about a day on Capri (3m34s): https://youtu.be/AzxHzjLP4sA This is my Positano Day Trip film (3m10s): https://youtu.be/q9QF3Camv-0 About this Pompeii mini-documentary: Pompeii was an ancient Roman city near Naples, in Italy. It was mostly destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 meters of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Today it’s some distance inland, but in ancient times was nearer to the coast. Pompeii is about 10 km away from Mount Vesuvius and covered a total of about 66 hectares. About two thirds of the city has been uncovered. The film features the ancient theatres and amphitheatre, streets and homes, bars and baths of ancient Pompeii. The film ends at the Garden of the Fugitives, where there are casts of victims who died while attempting to flee and were then buried by volcanic ash and pumice. Film by Deanna Allison.

Macau Travel Guide - Macao Day Trip from Hong Kong

16:54
Come join us for a day trip from Hong Kong (香港) as we visit Macau covering the best things to do in one day in our Macau Travel Guide (澳門 - 澳门). We started off our day waking up early in Hong Kong to get to the ferry terminal to take a TurboJET ferry to Macao. *Important* remember to take your passport as you're crossing one special administration region in China to another (Hong Kong to Macau) and you'll need to go through immigration on both sides (it doesn't take long). After arriving we took free transportation (provided by the casinos and hotels) to check out the Venetian Casino and Parisian Hotel. Then we were off to Taipa to mostly eat Macau street food and enjoy the old colonial architecture. We then made our way to Senado Square, the ruins of St. Paul's and Forte Monte while munching on plenty of Macanese street food before heading back to Hong Kong on a TurboJET ferry. As you can see you can do a lot in just one day in Macau but a few things we didn't get to do included gambling at casinos, going up Macau Tower or checking out the A-Ma temple. For more of the things we missed out on but are worth considering doing in Macau see our two lists below. Things to do in Macau Travel Guide: 1) TurboJET Ferry ride from Hong Kong to Macau (噴射飛航) which takes approximately one hour - 00:15 2) Visiting the Venetian Macao (澳門威尼斯人度假村酒店) luxury hotel and casino resort - 02:36 3) Visiting the Parisian (Chinese: 澳門巴黎人) luxury hotel in Cotai, Macau, China - 03:30 4) Visiting Taipa Houses–Museum (龍環葡韻住宅式博物館 - Casas-Museu da Taipa) - 04:13 5) Visit Taipa (氹仔) to eat street food in Macau and wander around - 05:05 6) Macau egg pudding - 05:31 7) Macau Pork Chop Bun (豬扒包) - 06:49 8) Portuguese style Macau egg tart (蛋撻 - 蛋挞) also known as Pastel de nata - 07:39 9) Free shuttle by from the casino hotels - 09:00 10) Senado Square (Largo do Senado - 議事亭前地) town square - 10:04 11) Ruins of St. Paul's (大三巴牌坊) - 11:22 12) Macau honey glazed pork jerky (豬肉乾) - 12:03 13) Macau almond cookies or biscuits (杏仁餅) - 13:25 14) Macanese Bubble tea with taro (波霸奶茶) - 14:24 15) Macao Museum or Macau Museum (澳門博物館 - Museu de Macau) - 15:26 16) Monte Fort (Fortaleza do Monte - 大炮台) - 15:44 17) TurboJET ferry ride from Macau (澳門 - 澳门) back to Hong Kong (香港) - 16:29 Things to do in Macau that we didn't have time for on our day trip 1) Gambling at the casinos in Macau 2) Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre (澳門旅遊塔會展娛樂中心) for views of Macau 3) A-Ma Temple (媽閣廟) 4) Grand Prix Museum (大賽車博物館) 5) Drink Portuguese wine 6) Macau Fisherman's Wharf (澳門漁人碼頭) 7) Macau Wine Museum (葡萄酒博物馆 - Museu do Vinho) GEAR WE USE Olympus OM-D E-M5 II: http://amzn.to/1OchS7t Canon G7X: http://amzn.to/1YdjsYX Olympus 14-150mm II Lens: http://amzn.to/1Y79zeM Rode Video Mic GO: http://amzn.to/1WDKtVM Joby Gorilla Pod: http://amzn.to/1PgoY5F SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro: http://amzn.to/25KEErs SOCIAL MEDIA & TRAVEL BLOGS AUDREY: blog: http://thatbackpacker.com/ instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thatbackpacker/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thatbackpacker twitter: https://twitter.com/ThatBackpacker SAMUEL: blog: http://nomadicsamuel.com/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nomadicsamuel twitter: https://twitter.com/NomadicSamuel instragram: https://www.instagram.com/nomadicsamuel/ Our visit Macau travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide (best restaurants and street food), top museums and Macau at night and by day. How to start a tour company

08:24
http://www.evancarmichael.com/support/ - SUPPORT ME :) Like this video? Please give it a thumbs up below and/or leave a comment - Thank you!!! In this video I answer a question from one my readers who asked: Hi Evans am thinking of starting a tour company that would also source accommodation for its clients and would take clients to any destination in kenya for a reasonable fee.I have carried out a research to find out how we need to introduce ourselves in the market and also researched on things like competition and how to stand out from the rest also marketing whereby we need to network with agencies abroad and also from the east so that they can be sending us clients for a commission.I have contacted a few of them through the internet and they are positive. Our target group is local and international tourists, honeymooners, corporates having trips and team building activities. Our international airport here in nairobi also gets tourists who have no idea which tour company is taking care of them so the taxi drivers at the airport are also our target whereby when they bring clients we shall give them a commission based on the package the clients are taking. So it is a noble idea but the financial part to implement it is a problem.Am passionate about it because i have worked in the hospitality industry all my life so at least i got experience and the know how. I hope you will also like the idea. Thanks. Kind regards, Christine Githaiga.

We also cover off-the-beaten-path outdoor activities you won't find in a typical Oxford tourism brochure, Oxford itinerary or Oxford, England city tour. 15 Things to do in Oxford Travel Guide | Day Trip from London, England video transcript: Good morning here in London. Today we are taking a day trip. Yes, we sure are. And we're heading off to Oxford. I mean this is obviously a destination that is quite famous. The most famous University in the world. It is not far from London. So it is a day trip. We're really excited. We're going to film a travel guide to Oxford. A couple of tips to keep in mind if you're traveling by bus. It is usually cheaper if you book in advance. Also, we noticed that weekdays were cheaper than weekends so we are going on a Friday today and got a good deal. We made it. We have arrived and that was an awesome trip. We got to see London and the countryside. Food always comes first. We're about food always. We cannot go sightseeing without a bite of food. We found a pub that is nice and cozy. We're right in the corner and this place apparently specializes in fish and chips. The University of Oxford has no known foundation date but teaching of some form has taken place here since the year 1096 making it the oldest University in the English speaking world. Today the University is made up for 38 self-governing colleges a few of which are open to visitors. So one of the things you can do when you visit Oxford is go around and tour the different colleges. We paid two pounds and now we're inside Trinity College. Trinity College was founded in 1555 and it’s one of the smallest colleges in Oxford admitted just over 400 students. This college has produced some noteworthy figures, including a few prime ministers. We also saw had a quick glance at Radcliffe College and the Bodleain Library, before continuing on to the University Church. This is the oldest Botanic Garden in Great Britain and it was originally founded as a medicinal garden. The Garden was also frequently visited by Lewis Carroll, an Oxford mathematics professor, and the gardens were a source of inspiration for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Oxford Castle is a partly ruined Norman castle dating back to Medieval times. During the 18th century it housed the local prison, but today those same walls are home to a hotel. So I think that is a wrap for our day trip to Oxford. Time to catch our bus. We're tired but we've done the main things we wanted to do. I hope you guys enjoyed this travel guide to Oxford and that it gives you a good idea of how you can kind of explore the city on a day trip from London. If you can come for longer because we wish we had 2 or 3 days here. This is part of our Travel in England video series showcasing British food, British culture and British cuisine. Just maybe don’t get off in the outskirts of town like we did, but more on that later. Vesuvio's Express is a shuttle service that runs to the top of the volcano, so if you’re expecting a guided tour filled with lots of interesting facts, this isn’t it. That being said, we were perfectly happy to tour the site on our own, and we couldn’t beat the price at 20 Euros per person. The only problem we encountered was that the roads were completely iced over the further we went up the mountain, and at one point the bus just had to give up and let all the passengers off to go the rest of the way on foot. Things got a little easier once we swapped icy paved roads for a dirt trail, though we also had snow to contend with, but we eventually reached the top. I would say one of the coolest things about hiking up to Mount Vesuvius was being able to see that it’s a volcano within a volcano, and while there was no bubbling lava visible to the eye, we could see steam rising from several vents. Our next stop after lunch were the ruins of Herculaneum, an ancient Roman town that was destroyed by Mount Vesuvius. While Pompeii was covered in ash, Herculaneum was hit by the pyroclastic flow that followed the explosion of 79 AD, which also led to its preservation. What at first glance appears to be a moat, is Herculaneum’s ancient shoreline. Here we were met with the aftermath of the explosion: a row of old boat houses, each of them filled with the skeleton remains of those who did not escape during the first day of the eruption. Walking Through Auschwitz | WARNING: Actual footage of entire camp

13:57
ATTENTION: I disabled comments due to the complete disrespect some people had towards the people who were murdered and suffered at Auschwitz. Also, filming and photographing is allowed throughout the camp except for the "room of hair" which I did not film out of respect for the people who suffered a great deal at this place. There are multiple signs showing "no flash photography" because this is not only disruptive and rude towards the people paying their respect but it also alters the items coloring over time. You can go to the website below and see it says on their website what is and isn't allowed to be filmed: http://auschwitz.org/en/press/filming-and-photographing - My regular vlogs are very happy and positive but this one is very different... I've always wanted to go visit auschwitz to see it for myself. I brought my camera with me so I could share this experience with people who wish to go see this place one day as well. Its a difficult thing to do but I believe it is necessary. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Link to my other channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXD6O-NFfYhrhJ7rTDEn9KQ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Follow me on social media! :) www.instagram.com/Buffbunny www.Facebook.com/HeidiSomersFit www.Twitter.com/HeidiSomers SNAPCHAT: BUFFBUNNY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CUSTOMIZED workout/meal plans: www.buffbunny.com Business Inquiries: [email protected] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Love hearing from you guys! Moscow Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia

07:01
Your trip to Moscow, Russia is bound to be a special one. From the multicolored spires of St. Basil’s Cathedral to the sturdy red walls of the Kremlin, there is much to see and do in this stunning city. Named after the Moskva River—which flows through the city—Moscow has long been at the forefront of the creative world. Tour Moscow to follow in the footsteps of Tolstoy and Chekhov, among others, and join in the sense of pride Russia feels for its literary tradition. Moscow has named a number of its parks and open spaces after its poets and authors, so take a break at the fountain in Pushkin Square, or rest beneath the leafy trees in Gorky Park. When you’ve gotten your fill of literary splendor, head to the Memorial Museum of Cosmonauts, where you can learn about the Soviet Union’s efforts to reach the stars and the epic space race that lasted from 1955 to 1972. Moscow is a city of creativity and innovation, but is also very much aware of its own history; as such, a haunting part of any Moscow sightseeing is a visit to the Fallen Monument Park. After the fall of the Soviet Union, countless statues and monuments were removed from their pedestals and moved to this park. Over the years, more modern artwork and sculptures have been added, turning the park into a strange, yet peaceful graveyard of former icons. What is your favorite part of Moscow?
