Stop crossing your arms! I can't evaluate the threads when you do that.

Also add a 3 piece tweed suit for extra class and choice if you can afford Harris tweed buy it for the quality.

Dude khaki is a colour not a form of fashion or cut of trews

First of all, I would like to say that I love your podcast! Great advise and many things in there that I have adopted into my life ever since. For this "fashion" video however I have to agree with a lot of comments here. Even though the style does come off as "manly" there is a thing or two to say about fit. I believe having well fitting clothes is half the battle (the other half is probably finding the right colors and color combinations) for your type. That being said, well fitting does not mean skinny, as has been falsely misinterpreted by some people in the comments. Maybe it's also cultural in a way? I live in Los Angeles right now and I definitely discern different styles across the country, with a generally more European/smart look in coastal/urban areas and casual in the middle of the country. I grew up in Germany and I remember how my dad once said that you can tell and american in a business suit by looking at the pants (too short, which was demonstrated in this video :)) and generally everything being a bit more baggy/boxy (which was also demonstrated here). However, he made that comment back in the 90s so I think in some ways things are pretty stable... Just me rambling here, but I also want to add that I do love the posing antics sir! Keep up the good work!

America First Highlights (2 months ago)
an underrated aspect of the comment section is just how versatile it is, we got informative commenters, shit posters, clueless people, little kids. A true range of versatile versatility on display and thats just with one video.
Blake Trickey (2 months ago)
Good stuff man. The only thing that I would critique is that the pants you are wearing in the vid could be one size shorter and a little more of a thin/or thin/straight cut. Also, talk a little more about the importance of materials. I like to stay away from synthetic materials for various reasons and stick with natural (i.e. cotton, wool, cashmere, etc)...I have found that many times it is better to shop at the smaller botiques instead of the large chain stores like JC Penny for good material choices.

Step 1: get jacked Step 2: wear clothes Step 3: mustache Step 4: ?

Unpopular opinion: While converse are certainly classic, they're honestly pretty basic.

too many checkered shirts mr moustache
qarhsi (3 months ago)
you make good points. the outfit ideas are decent. and you said take them to a tailor so that they fit. unfortunately, most of the clothes don't fit you well. in my humble opinion. they seem too baggy. i am not saying embrace skinny fits, but i do encourage slim fit (or rather tailored to individual bodies, WITHOUT a bunch of extra fabric). if someone is bigger, and gets a regular fit and that doesn't end up having tons of extra fabric around, then that is good enough.

Ppl still go to church? I thought that trend faded out in the early 2000s
Anon Anon (3 months ago)
is he trying to look like midget or a dwraf. Jesus christ those pants are baggy as hell. Either that or doesn't want to show how skinny his chicken legs are.
Woody10719 (4 months ago)
I prefer his pants look rather than skin tight shit..
Adhy Nugroho (4 months ago)
Everything looks sharp.. although I do think he'd look even awesome-er with pants that are a bit tapered. Other than that... everything else is awesome!
Jason Jasonson (4 months ago)
no offense but you don't look stylish at all brother.

Winter outerwear?
Jon Stern (4 months ago)
Getting your shirts tailored but not your (far too baggy) pants just looks odd. The sports coat fitted great though

Idk I like chukka or Chelsea boots more than work boots and i think they look just as good. I also like wearing double monk strap shoes since they're not something you see every day and they still look good casual.
abrahamwinkies66 (4 months ago)
You can cut the legs off the trousers and there you go you got a summer suit. You can cut the sleeves off the suit jacket and there you go you got another jacket
Boots on the Ground (4 months ago)
Lol I'm horribly confused why everyone thinks clothes have to be tight and form fitting. That's uncomfortable and inconvenient. If I'm wearing skinny jeans, my squatting is constricted and I can't lift anything heavy.
Lontay Greene (5 months ago)
Question. Do you tailor any of these items?

Am I the only one who thinks that the slightly baggy trousers and jeans (especially) look extremely well on him?

All these kids on here commenting about how his clothes and pants fit too loose I would just like to inform you that they actually fit him pretty well that's how a man's supposed to dress. Men aren't supposed to wear skin tight clothes and pants that are too short that's very feminine looking. Men should quit going around wearing women's jeans and go back to being men😂 great video!

as a boy going through puberty, how important is it to have a "minimal wardrobe"? for instance, is it worth me getting a personal suit or just use the hand-me-downs? i just tend to where pants and a shirt throughout the week. do i need all of the articles in the video?

trousers are a bit on the wide side and too short, the seersucker fits very poorly, those JC Penney "brogues", c'mon. Denim is too long, the boots are dope, though

Great video. Thanks. Where do I find a someone who will tailor a shirt for $5-10?

Thank you for your advice about basics and interchangeability. Also for the Wolverine 1000 mile boots. Another menswear stylist speaks about 256 possible combinations from 4 x 4 x 4 x 4 well chosen pieces.

I had a navy pair of khakis, i used them for school(with a white school polo, we had to wear uniform) i used them for casual wear with a black crew or box fit shirt, and i used them in an office(did filing and kitchen bitch duties for an accounting company) as smart casual with a business/ dress shirt and a black heavy coat for when it was cold. And i also wore them with shirt and tie and noone noticed they werent dress

You know when you see something and think to yourself "damn i feel old"? Well this is like, the opposite of that. Honestly i own like a handful of T-shirts, 2 plad denim shirts that i never wear, 3 pairs of jeans and 2-3 hoodies, 1 winter jacket, 1 pair of shoes, 1 pair of boots and not enough socks. The hell else do i need? And although I've never been to a "punk rock show" it doesn't sound like the type of place i'd take someone on a date on, unless you're both like really into that sort of thing. Killer muscles tho bro, would not advise anyone to fuck with you, you look like you'd punch pretty hard, so uhm kudos.

I loved the final tip about getting rid of clothes you've no longer worn for the past 6 months. Personally, I have difficulty throwing away or getting rid of stuff, especially clothing. But it's useless to leave clothing just hanging there in the closet when you could also donate it to people who would actually wear it. I reckon this knowledge would also make it easier to give them away. Thanks for the helpful advice.

When I became a woodworker like 6 months ago my wardrobe changed from solid color t-shirts and shorts from jcpenny to flanels and two well fitting pairs of jeans and a couple baggier pair. still got all the t-shirts I've got to go through at some point.

You know, it's really cool how in this age of abscent fathers, we as a generation are able to daddy each-other in this way. Society will always adapt, now matter how hard it's tried to be socially-engineered.
