I’m loving the Baker creek series!
So glad you like it!

Just about 90% of all my seeds come from Baker creek I love them!. Baker creek shared tour video on their Facebook I clicked watched and now subscribed
Welcome and Thank you!! We hope you enjoy our channel!
This is very useful information. I’m ordering seeds to ship to Venezuela trying to alleviate the food insecurity (shortage due to rations and inflation). It’s important for me that the seeds I buy are quick yield, early varieties, prolific and hopefully disease free because people won’t have access to anything to kill pests such as powdery mildew or other pests. Thanks again!
We are so glad that you find our videos helpful! It is a very sad situation in Venezuela and we hope that the seeds you send will help them in their extreme time of need. Thank you for watching Margarita!

Thank you for the awesome seed info. Cannot wait to try some new items this spring. We are also trying to set up a community seed library in our community so seed saving has become something I have learned this year very well. I was drooling over your walls of seeds. Lol. Would love to come and visit your store and see your actual place some day. Thanks again for all the great videos you guys do to keep us informed. Angie

Hi Mike, we have grown tomatoes in Port Angeles WA for a few years in a greenhouse. However this year we had growth and flowers, but very few fruit. What went wrong this year? Is there some nutrient that we are lacking?
KIM COUCH (3 months ago)
I grew the lemon squash.....It is so good and we had tons of it!
I think we are definitely going to grow them next year.

It is exciting seeing all the seeds and planning on what to grow. Thanks for watching Sally!

Can you get more money for heirloom veggies? Or is it because there is more variety. I know in my garden, I like heirlooms because the plants seem to grow better and the fruit grows bigger. A lot of the varieties won't grow here in Texas. When you order from them, do they have a way to tell you what will grow and not grow in certain regions? Have a wonderful and Blessed Day.
Katmom you can contact them through their website or through their Facebook page and could help you on what varieties would be best for your growing conditions. In certain areas you can get more for heirlooms but it all depends on what people want. Thanks for watching!

Already have a few of the suggested seeds for my garden in 2019 ... the Ozark Giant peppers & the Mexican Sour Gherkin. Looking forward to seeing how they produce under very trying conditions (mainly lack of sun due to obstructions) ..... but I'm going to give them a go, including of all things ... the Orangeglo watermelon .... that's gonna be interesting to say the least - all I want is just one ...... is that too much to ask lolzzzzz. Take care Mike, and best of luck to you and your family.
Sounds like you are well on your way to having things planned out for next year. Thanks for watching David!

WOW! Thank you so much for this video. I am so inspired by this video. What are the seeds you have chosen to grow next year? I would love to know. I love the vegetables that look like other fruits, ie: pear tomatoes, lemon cucumbers What excitement they could create at a family gathering!
It is really exciting! We don't have everything nailed down but I'm sure we will be growing some of these varieties next year.

That was great information on the different varieties .  I grew the small lemon cucumbers a couple years ago and they did so well I couldn't keep up with them.  I will be trying some of the peppers and tomatoes he recommended.  Thanks Mike

It's not just the market gardener that could REALLY benefit from very productive plants. I have very limited garden space, so I tend to grow only one or 2 of each variety of larger plants in my garden. I was just gifted some Chinese 5 color pepper seed, so you will be seeing my grow those out this coming season. I will most likely try out some of the squash mentioned in this video, as well as the lemon cucumber and maybe the marketmore which I have grown before. Thank you so much for all of this useful information. And Thank you to Kendall as well.
It is nice to know they are so prolific!
John Herbert (3 months ago)
I grew the Chinese 5 Colors this last year and was giving them away! I would pick at least 5 or six of each plant that was only 12 inches tall. By the time they got to be 20 inches tall I was sick of seeing them in the kitchen and was just dropping a bowl at work to see my coworkers snack on them
You're welcome!! Glad you like it!
Cindy Thomas (3 months ago)
Question: with the peppers. My friends dr. told her the peppers she ate so much of during the summer was helping her pain from a muscle disease. What is in pepper that could do that? Any truth to that if you know? Or could you direct me to someone.
Cindy Thomas (3 months ago)
+The Fit Farmer - Mike Dickson These were sweet peppers. The small bell peppers, yellow, orange and red.
The capsaicin in hot peppers does help with pain. There is a lot of research out there on it.
Cindy Thomas (3 months ago)
I can't wait for their new catalog. I've been looking at last year's catalogs, dreaming and wondering what next year will bring. After this past year of losing almost everything to rain and flooding, I am considering doing some container gardening and putting the grow bags to use.
We are looking forward to the new catalog too. So sorry you have lost so much we hope you can use the grow bags to help out next year.

The more I learn about all the different varieties of fruits and vegetables and forage, the more I am awestruck by all that God has given us to be stewards of.
You are so right. There are so many different varieties of plants and just think that there are thousands of plants that are already extinct. We need to protect what God has given us! Blessings to you!

If we could get to that Baker Creek Seed Store, we'd be like kids in the candy store. It's hard enough to not go overboard when we buy seeds online. And all those folks at Baker Creek are so knowledgeable, you know they work there for the right reasons. 🙂👍
They are so knowledgeable!! There are so many choices it does feel like you are in a candy store.
Hey! I know u hear this a lot but I have to say it again. This is one of the most informative videos for all these various items. There were so many I have never seen. I feel variety is most important for rural market gardeners. Thx for sharing!
Thank you Aaron! We really try to provide good information. Thanks for watching!
good afternoon, I've grown the Fish peppers and they are hot. also grown Cherokee Purple, I love them and the yellow pear, Lemon Cucumber just the right size for a good snack., Mexican Sour Gherkin these are fast growing on a Trellis and easier to pick these little guy. taste like a cucumber with a little splash of lemon taste. my grand kids love them. they full up there pockets to take home. LOL! thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day
+The Fit Farmer - Mike Dickson me too. there just not enough space for all I'd love to grow. square foot garden is all I can do for now. still looking for that right country land to buy.
There is so much we want to try next year!
Oliver Sky (3 months ago)
Thank you for sharing! I absolutely love the Cherokee Purple variety. Ive yet to find any other tomato so flavorful. Looking forward to trying some of the other varieties that were recommend, especially the Murasaki Togarashi. I also grew the Fish pepper for the first time during the 2018 growing season. It is definitely hot for its size, but it is an absolutely beautiful plant. The story and history behind the Fish pepper is truly unique, and we are lucky they are still available today. Story here--> https://www.gardenbetty.com/fish-pepper-a-peculiar-pepper-with-deep-roots-in-african-american-history/

+The Fit Farmer - Mike Dickson Your welcome! You have a fantastic channel, and a wonderful family. It's been an inspiration to watch your farm grow. I've really enjoyed the Baker Creek series of videos. I should also mention where I first heard about the history of the Fish pepper. Hi! Great info once again! We grow the lemon squash and they are delicious! Also the squash bugs don't seem to like them so we get more than with the straight neck squash which is another of our favorites. I hope y'all get some great new seeds for your market garden!
Glad you liked our video! We really want to grow the lemon squash next year because we hate squash bugs! Thanks for watching!
David Ross (3 months ago)
i got 4 figs from them and thought they would die as they were root bound and not growing in soil but thankfully this yr we got so much rain here in west virginia they grew and grew and grew and got to 5 ft tall with figs on them but not big enough to eat.. so i did not like the ones sent from florida but thankfully the rains made them grow..
David Ross (3 months ago)
yes i am sure they will.. i did try growing those tiny seeds that are little blue berries and little orange berries but they were so hard to get started.. the seeds are so tiny..and i grew a melon that grew lots of vines but no fruit.. it must have been due to all the rains this summer. it rained here from may and well it is still raining here .. many basements and rivers and creeks got flooded out..
So glad they grew for you, I bet they will have lots of fruit next year. Thanks for watching David!

Thanks. That was great! I remeber the pear tomates when I was a child. Mom had a hard time letting them ripen as we picked them as soons as they turned. I had never seen them again. It is good to know Backer Creek has them.
Thank you for sharing that memory with us! Glad that you now know you can find the yellow pear tomatoes at Baker Creek. Thanks for watching!
Dark Age Growing (3 months ago)
I was droolling just watching you guys walk around in that store. I live in Washington state and I doubt I'll ever make it to the Baker Creek seed store but I'd love to someday. I grow yellow pear Tomatoes almost every year cuz they are so prolific. I've have a video up about dehydrating yellow pear tomatoes on my channel and I was getting pounds off that thing.
They do have a seed store in Petaluma, CA, that is a little closer to you. The Whole Seed Catalog has all the seeds in it too and it is beautiful with great articles in it as well. That is great that you already grow the yellow pear tomatoes. Thanks so much for watching!

Baker Creek Seeds have really good germination rates and if you get a pack and they don't sprout I would call their customer service, they are great! Thanks for watching Joseph!
Acoatof Gold (3 months ago)
I’m gonna have to try those cucumbers. I have horrible luck with them, they hardly ever do anything for me but I’ll have to try trellising them at some point. I get the Baker Creek magazine every year just to browse but the majority of my seeds come from MIGardener or Sustainable Seed or (don’t tell anybody) Walmart. I’ll have to give them a try.
This year was the year of the cucumber for us, they did so good, but we are looking forward to planting new varieties next year. The important thing is that you are growing something not necessarily where you buy your seed, but Baker Creek does have great germination rates. Thanks for watching!
